A Beautiful Gem
Had really looked forward to playing this course and was not disappointed.
Only a half an hour away from Bristol it was easily worth the drive through stunning countryside to get there,
We were greeted by very friendly staff and made to feel very welcome.
There are lots of trees on this course which both enhance the course and make it quite challenging on a lot of the holes.
The holes are set out well and are well signposted so it's easy to see where you need to go next.
It was a real bonus to sit on the terrace after the round and enjoy a cold drink in the sun, reflecting on what was a very enjoyable round of golf.
We absolutely loved this course and will certainly come back to play it again,
well presented course
Have played this course many times and it has always been very well looked after and presented.
the greens are kept superb, tee boxes well presented and fairways are cut perfect.
a great course with value for money, friendly pro shop and a well priced 19th hole.
Ridiculously slow play
Ive played here before and found it ok although course always feels soft/wet. My biggest annoyance today is after being right behind a group of 5 (yes 5!!!!!) walkers and 4 walkers without being let through for 6 holes we called it a day. The management are oblivious to anything happening on the course. No one monitors anything. When returning the buggy key and informing the pro shop the reply was something about a society being out there.....
So what! No apology. No offer to sort it out. Its so amateurish.
Excellent course all round - Lovely clubhouse too!!
Another extremely enjoyable round - course in great condition again followed up by very hospitable hour or two in the friendly and welcoming Clubhouse. Top marks to all at Orchardleigh!!
course of two parts first 9 easer than second [moor woodland]
Windy day played some hole well and putter well on good greens. Some grassed area were a bit long and need cutting but weather wet. Play was slow as following some novice golfers and course busy.
Simply great
Good interesting course, tremendous condition and the new facilities in the club house are a perfect apt addition.
If you have not played the course, you should.
have played many times before so knew what to expect not disappointed however the food afterwards was not that good should do better
Well kept course
A great day out at this great course.
There may be better courses out there but not for the value of money that you get at this course. Greens held up well and thoroughly enjoyable day.
Immaculate course
Extremely well kept course. Fast greens and a relatively easy walk. Need to speed up certain players though as some groups were taking 25 mins a hole
I didn't lose a ball
Which is quite an achievement for me. Not a difficult course and no holes that really stand out, but a very pleasant place to play and good facilities.
Nice enough course
A really liked the course, the condition of it was great, but the staff and members seemed to have a funny attitude and the pace of play was terrible, we were 4 hours in and gave up on the 13th hole... wouldn't recommend it.
Really friendly staff. Course was in great condition. Will be back.
Great course
Really nice course fanstatic layout with some tricky holes and lots of wildlife first time I've seen a snake
Hidden gem
This course has to be one of the best courses I've played and the price of the round is an absolute bargain! Nice to see a golf course that doesn't over charge depending on the season
Fantastic course
The setting and the course are amazing, it could be the best course around however I found that the course wasn't as in as good a condition as other courses I have played recently, the greens were slow and didn't always run true. the fairways a little bear in places. All that said i really enjoyed my round and would love to play it again.
The course was in good condition, the recent dry weather has helped the course which suffers from poor drainage in the winter months, the only boggle was that there was no first cut in the rough, you went straight to 3-4 inch grass.
It's good to see some money has been spent on the course since the new owner took over.
Gorgeous course
Loved the course. Imagined gentry in the 18th century galloping around on their horses. Greens were excellent. Lovely countryside. Would definitely play again. Staff were really friendly and bacon rolls were 10 out of 10
