Long but confusing layout

I have played here on the odd occasion but it’s abit confusing as shared greens , cross over holes. Having to give priority to other’s teeing off but don’t allow the others tee opposite to tee off after. The tee does explain the rules but needs the opposite to oblige afterwards. Long holes but good also greens kept in fine condition.. Good for your game and GolfNow value for money.

Quirky Course, Staff Let Down

Played the course over a year ago and remember it being fun and quirky. Had great fun meeting some fellow golfers who we got paired with through golf now. Was really let down by the staff in the pro shop. Had an open chat with them before starting the round, state of the course, and at no point did they offer or advise about the 8 temporary greens in action on the day. Really spoiled the day for us. Don’t mind temp greens but when you drive a par 4 in one only to realise a temp green is in play out of sight from the tee. Really annoying. Advise to ask directly before booking as has put me off playing the course again.

Mixed Open Competition

We entered an Open mixed comp here again as we had previously played one before.. We arrived and went into the club house and were met with very friendly faces, we ordered a bacon roll with Tea , this arrived and was delicious we ate outside over looking the course ( wonderful view).

Everyone we encountered were very friendly and helpful, we started on the first hole and then proceeded to play the round, the course is in fantastic condition with really well kept and pacey greens I would hazard to say the best kept course in the area.

A really lovely course with quirky holes and layout, immaturely kept so hats off to the green keepers. I would highly recommend playing Oundle to anyone., lovely members the ladies at the half way gut could not do enough for us , cakes and refreshments were lovely. We will certainly be coming back.

Nice Round

Staff member in the shop was very helpful. Course was in good condition. Weather was overcast and a strong wind on the day. Greens were true and reasonably paced. Holes 11, 12 , 13 & 14 are a nightmare trying to figure out who has priority for visitors.

Unforgiving, keep it on the short stuff…!!!

First visit to a new course is always great, ya need a good drive here staying out of trouble is key, trees are close on both sides a lot, only thing I didn’t like is if you were in the rough there’s almost zero chance to find ya ball, so much could be cut back and tidied up, but I’ll be going again and taking my mates too

Keep coming back

Oundle is a quirky interesting course which will challenge you in ways others courses dont.

Greens and course is in great condition. This time the rough was very long and the greens were hard making it a tough round to score well.

Some easy holes and some really tough challenges.

Keep coming back to play Oundle

Little Gem

As always a friendly greeting awaits you from the staff at Oundle. The course is interesting and well kept, greens in good condition and true running. I first played the course in the 1980’s and although I don’t like the revised layout as much as the old it still has some unique holes.

Not the greatest time to play

I’ve played at Oundle before, the gaps between each tee time I would say is spot on you hardly ever get held up in play and can get around fine, a very quirky course but is enjoyable, spending on how well you play, today however information of how the course is playing was poor, flags not in place no idea were I’m playing to and no information on GolfNow or oundle to say greens are on fairways, playing each hole looking at the green and feeling all look acceptable to play on a bit confusing tbh, and feeling yes I did book at hot deal under the playing conditions didn’t feel like a good deal at all after turning up, I’m glad I had a friend playing with as they were not happy about the mid information, none the less the chap in the shop was very nice friendly even with it being New Year’s Day, but the course neither I or my friend didn’t feel like that.

Course was ok good condition was stuck behind 2 women who did not want to let me through on any hole luckily they only played 9 holes . So was little slow for front 9 but had back 9 to myself . Short course but have to think a little about positioning of ball . Would play again here .

Lovely course.......

The course was in very good condition and greens ran well. Layout is not long but intriguing. Bit disappointed that club was shut when we'd finished round at 6pm on Saturday but all in all a very nice track.
