Nice course
Decent course, overlapping fairways and sharing greens was ok because it wasn’t busy, not sure how I’d feel on a busy day. Greens/fairways in good nick - tees good too. Only negative was £25 but even with that it was good value.
Little gem
I don’t know why it took me so long to return to Oundle. The course has long par 4s and 5s, tricky par 3s and a finishing hole that is a little bit special. If you like elevated tees, lush mature trees with plenty of dog legs and tricky par 3s combined with undulating greens then this is the course for you. My favourite hole is the 18th where the green is surrounded by high banks giving it a links feel. The staff were very friendly and it was incredible value with 18 holes costing just £12.50 each on Thursdays. I will definitely be back.
Great course
Played here with my son and would recommend playing this great course. It is not a traditional layout but it offers lots of different types of holes that are not particularly long but a well positioned tee shot is needed or a big score will be carded. Would have benefited from playing this course before because of its layout but not a problem as we will be returning
Lovely course with some amazing holes
I was in the area for work and thought I would try the course out, was such a nice course and most of the holes are stunning. Greens were in very good condition and I had three groups of 3 in front of me that all let me play through which is very rare these days.
Highly recommend
Unforgiving
It's a nice course with some big holes. Hitting a wayward drive off the tee will spell trouble none times out of ten. It's also very hilly and a tough workout. Very well kept greens and beautiful fairways. Overall very happy with the course.
Oundle Golf Course
We played this beautiful course on a warm sunny afternoon with a very strong wind blowing. It was in great condition and we thoroughly enjoyed the undulating layout and frequent elevated tee positions. Would definitely recommend this course to any golfer who likes a challenge and we will certainly be visiting it again soon.
Interesting course
Course if full of interesting holes, no 2 holes the same. Really enjoyed my round there although some of the greens weren’t the greatest. Will definitely play here again.
interesting holes
Really good test of golf, makes you think about club selection especially in the wind. Would recommend playing course and staff were very friendly.
Great course, friendly staff
A lovely parkland course with undulating natural features. The fairways are wide and forgiving on the whole, but on a day when the wind was up, and with well placed bunkers and tricky greens, scoring isn't easy.
The staff in the pro shop were very friendly and welcoming, would definitely return.
Great afternoon of golf
The 4 of us played Friday afternoon. It was quiet’ish. The course was in a great condition, with very well managed and manicured greens. Oundle is a challenging course, and certainly there are some holes & greens that take no prisoners....but that is precisely what makes it so enjoyable. We took 2 buggies, & thank goodness for that as the course is very undulating. Staff are always very helpful, & changing/toilet facilities are excellent. Overall, a very resounding applause for this course.
Sunday round of golf
Friendly welcome in Pro shop. The course condition, tee boxes and greens fine. We were one of the last groups out, so pace was fair. Disappointed that the bar/food was closed by 4pm,
Welcoming and rewarding
Played here once before in the winter and it was quite wet. In late Autumn, with little recent rain, the course was in fantastic shape, though "lift and place" was available if required. Staff were welcoming and we teed off ahead of our booked time.
Most greens were in very good condition and fairways ran well due to the dry conditions. Playing after the morning rush, we virtually had the course to ourselves. Good job as the buggy route was sometimes quite tortuous - a few more buggy bridges needed over the stream that runs through the centre of the course. Otherwise, hard to fault.
Difficult!
On a hot summers day as a 28 handicap golfer I found this course difficult to master in terms negotiating the long and winding fairways and the steep and undulating walk but the few people we met including the course Marshall were very welcoming and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed the round and look forward to returning there soon now we know the layout.
Warm welcome and pleasant afternoon
Staff and members made us very welcome. Course in nice condition and well worth a second visit.
Tricky tricky course
Got lucky we found a sunny day to play, really tricky course should be easy as it's a short yardage but you need skill to score well on this course, greens were beautiful.
Would play this course anytime it's not an easy walk if your not fit though
