Not interested in the golf
Tee time infront of us arrived 5 minutes after their tee time and demanded to go before us (as a 3-ball we assumed they’d be quicker than our 4-ball). Very slow pace of play which seemed to hold up the hole course behind us with nobody sign of them letting us play through. Just over 5 hours to complete the round. Approaching 18th there was a large wedding going on with very loud music blaring at 3pm. Raised concerns to the member of staff who also seemed disinterested stating that it was a wedding. No consideration for customers or pace of play. Would avoid of a weekend. Shame because the greens were in fantastic condition and very fast.
Parkwood could be good
Summer has not been kind lots of bare areas that need attention also seems to attract hackers and non golfers the
Group in front were absolutely hopeless no golf etiquette and could barely hit the ball
The layout is interesting the course needs more green keepers possibly to keep the maintenance up to a better standard. Would go back if there was a improvement of care on the course
Good value round near London
First time playing here. Course was in good condition generally especially the greens. It’s quite forgiving with trees separating most fairways which is a bonus if you’ve a bit erratic off the tee box. Nice mixture of holes with good traps throughout.
Staff very friendly and have even found my putter cover which I lost!
Would recommend and will come back
Mid week round
I played on a Thursday evening around 5ish. There was no one in front and no one behind. I ended up completing my round in just over 2:30hrs. First time playing at Park Wood and really enjoyed. The course is in good condition. The fairways are a little weathered but so are most courses at the moment. Would definitely play here again and will be doing so soon.
Over priced for what you get.
Feels like it should be better than it actually is. The clubhouse looks very nice but some basics were missing - no practice green, no trolleys available etc. The greens were impressive but the rest of the course isnt in very good shape - the fairways were poor and often lots of weeds in them. Very easy to get a poor lie on the fairways.
There was a long queue to get the round started, it wasnt clear why. Ended up being a 4.5 hour round for a 2 ball. The only time i saw a course marshall was when they shouted out to tell me to look at a cat as i was addressing the ball on the tee about to swing - was very odd and unhelpful behaviour!
Overall course was ok, but for £40 I expected a lot better.
Parkwood
Great course in a very nice location the course has very good amenities, pace of play is very good and everyone very friendly, nice to be able to stop for a pint halfway round
Excellent value
Played on a Sunday, £21.99 which was extraordinary considering the quality of the golf course
Very pleased indeed and will definitely be going back
Great day out at Park Wood
It's been a brutally hot summer, and the fairways are like concrete and very bare. The rough is cut fair and the tee boxes show a lot of use but are in decent condition. The greens are so much better than they were earlier in the year. The club has spent a lot of money on the irrigation of the greens and it is coming along really nicely. Park Wood is a long, hard course and is a very good test of golf. Tania and the team work really hard, the food is good and the bar is a nice place to chill. It is what it is for a very reasonable price. In my view it is the best reasonable cost round in the area. I have a lot of time for Park Wood. Play it a lot in a society and just for fun
Fantastic greens
As soon as we arrived the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly, the course itself is long but had a buggy , the fairways were ok but the greens were in fabulous condition very quick and easy to over hit a putt , I would definitely recommend and play again .kind regards Andy wood
BUNKER Requies more sand.
For the majority of the holes any shot from the bunkers is hindered due to the lack of sand having a negative impact on your club selection
In many cases the club is bouncing of the base of the bunker as the level of sand is too shallow.
This course could be amazing!
This course has lots to offer but is just lacking in certain areas, the practice green is tiny yet super quick!
The driving range is vast but there are only two markers for distance and no flags to aim at.
The course is a fantastic layout but is lacking a bit of TLC, the greens are super slow and are in desperate need of a cut to match the speed of the practice green.
Overall the course is a little scruffy in places but over all a joy to play. It’s a tight track so you need to be accurate and the greens are not massive.
With a little TLC this would get top marks, the food is nice and overall it ticks a lot of boxes!
