Staying nearby on holiday, looking for a local, reasonably priced course, preferably 9 holes due to limited time .

Pleasantly surprised. A good variety of holes in a pleasant setting backing onto a main road on one side only .

Some quite lengthy par 3’s plus suitably long enough par 4’s

Greens were in great condition & bunkers were suitably filled

Would love to return , having more time & get better value for money as the fee paid was for 18 holes due.

we arrived at the poulton course & i went into the bar area to inform the guy running the bar i had booked on for 2 players at the time stated he then was a bit shirty due to working a cutomers drinks before dealing with me so had to wait when he could be bothered to acknowledge the booking he then said you are playing with another 2 guys who we dont know & they were playing 18 holes & we were only playing 9 holes which i told him & he said we will have to go with them which my son was very unhappy about this & it spoilt our game from the start but then what really incensed us was that the party in front of us & the party in front of them were only of 2 people playing & the party directly behind us was also of only 2 players? the course is nothing special & if wet its not good to play as the course cant handle much rain but we wont be playing it anytime soon i dont like the attitudes from a place that doesent have a pro golf shop with a proper booking in system & people who are glad to see you & value as a customer not a barman serving beer & fitting you in when it suits?

Not happy with putting myself & my son with other people as a fourball when quite a few people in front of us were allowed to play as 2 ball partnerships when we saw this scenario in front of us it was obvious there was no reason in my mind for doing this to us but they won’t do it again because we won’t give them the chance or our money again

although not the most picturesque course it gives a good challenge especially for your drives & long 2nd shots to most holes & must say the greens are very consistent & in great condition

only played this course 2 times the first was not so good as the fairways were to damp it doesn't seem to take much water due to being probably on the flat side but must admit that if you play it when its been dry it is a good nine hole course with superb greens & you are made very welcome

Great course great value for money grounds keeper has been working hard greens in great condition fairways all cut perfectly really enjoyed playing and will be back for another game very soon and definitely recommend playing the course if you haven’t already

I've not played Poulton for a few years. I was absolutely shocked by the many improvements to the course. Tees, excellent. Fairways excellent. Greens excellent. John and the team have made amazing improvements. I'll be back.

Had fun at this really well looked after course. Greens were fabulous! Tricky but rewarding.

Played this nine hole course a few times in the past..

A round of two halves, first time round we were behind a fourball so progress was a bit slow and the tees were rather worn, apparently they had had a large charity event at the weekend.

Fortunately for us the fourball finished after one round so the second lap was quite a bit quicker and whilst we had been playing the first lap the tees had been cut and the tee boxes moved.

My only complaint was there was a lot of tree debris on the 4th hole, obviously as a result of the recent gales.

The course is in good condition although I found the greens a little slow.Plenty of room off most tees if you are a little wayward.

Nice pie in the clubhouse afterwards.

Well maintained course with great facilities, really good value.

Great course friendly staff and members only problem was that we couldn't buy food at the beginning of our round or at the end even though their was a society playing the same day
