Herons Reach @ Blackpool
Great variety of holes. Faster than average greens. A few par 4’s that tempt you to go for the dance floor off the tee. Some tight precision shots needed also. Friendly Pro shop and a good spot for the 19th. One of the better courses across the Flyde.
Price is a joke
The price of this place for the condition is a joke. I can play better kept courses around here for cheaper. The course isn’t in great shape compared to other courses around too. £50+ on a Saturday as well is scandalous
Slowest round of golf EVER!!!
Course was in good condition, some greens need a little attention as there starting to develop disease.
Lots of un repaired pitch marks from previous players.
Worst thing about our round was the pace of play, we stood around on every tee box for 5mins because of the group 2 tees in front of us holding everyone up. Th way were only a 2ball and had the course backed up so bad that people were walking off.
Overall the course is nice but I wouldn’t play it again as we played the day before and tho e pace of play was exactly the same.
We thought we were just unlucky the first time but after the second time it seems a regular occurrence.
Evening round
Solo golf at 5.30pm. A lovely sunlit evening round on a course I have played once before.
The course was generally in good order. Some of the tee boxes were very worn, the fairways were good, the greens were good, quite quick. I had difficulty finding the hole with the putter.
I have two bugbears from the round neither of which were the clubs fault. Pitch marks not repaired on greens and bunkers not raiked despite plenty of rakes. Come on fellow golfers do the little things to enhance other peoples enjoyment.
Great course in good condition
Played with my son. Course was fairly quiet so never held up. Course was in really good condition. A very enjoyable round.
Good Challenge
Good challenging course plenty of water fairways and greens in good condition
Good course on GN deal
Good course and provides some challenging holes.
Have to be pretty accurate with tee shots as if you end up in the rough it can be tough.
Overall really good and would like to play again.
Slow play
Poor course management as i had to ask one of the team to ask a 4 ball to speed up. This didn’t happen and I didn’t even manage to finish the round which cost me £50. I had been playing for 4 hours 20 minutes and didn’t even get to finish the 17th hole due to darkness. This was the case with other 2 balls behind and nobody was happy.
Worth the money
Course looking a bit jaded. However exeme dry weather contributing. I suspect the course gets overplayed and it can only take so much. Will probably return in more normal uk conditions
JUST SUPERB
Fantastic course, great condition, great for all standards of golf. Each hole needs a little thought, which makes it really interesting. A very scenic course with ponds and wildlife.
I Will definitely play it again if in the area.
If you are in the area it's one not to be missed.
Hazard heaven
Great course with many a bunker and hazards to keep you on your toes. Some great views along the way.
Good course, with interesting features.
Nice layout to the course and enough water to make it interesting, without being too difficult. Highlights were the tee shots over water, particularly the par 3 7th hole which seems to be nothing but water between the tee and the green. The only complaint was the condition of the greens, they were awful, the ball didn’t roll or break and just held up. This was for every green and having not played it before I don’t know if this was the norm. However, In the space of three days I played here, Staining Lodge & Lytham Green Drive so I was able to make a fair comparison.
If the greens were in better condition, I would say it was a really good course.
Disappointing…
The course used to be excellent with lush fairways & greens.
Yesterday was bare lies on some greens, 1cut round greens was clumps of grass
Fairways were bare in parts.
With plenty TLC it should return but don’t it it soon
Shocking poor condition
I've never seen a course in such poor condition as this. The fairways were overgrown and no distinction from the rough, the greens were un puttable and the general persona of the course was a poorly managed venue. I would never pay to play there again again
The pictures are of the 3rd and 5th airways
I was a member there for years and was playing to see if I wanted to join again, sadly its so poor I will not bother
