Golf Advisor: Top Courses in England (2024 #17)
Reviews
Always delivers
Never get bored of playing this course. For this of the year it was it in great condition. Only slight drawback was the bare patches on some fairways but overall great course for the money paid compared to other golf clubs in the area,
Expected more
Course not in the best of condition in early May. Not sure I’ll be back.
Very friendly to visitors
Enjoyable chat on arrival with a member in the car park
Made to feel welcome in the pro shop and given an explanation of the course layout and condition.
Good pace of play as it was busy.
Very nice bar with good real ales and very nice food.
We will be visiting again.
My round at Radcliffe on trent gc.
Played on the sunniest day of the year so far. Excellent course only marked by sanding the greens , which was understandable given all the frosts we've had and the time of year, mid March. Staff and members were very friendly,
Rough fairways
Last played this course about 30 years ago. Thought I would give it a go remembering how good it was. But despite the glorious weather the course was in poor condition. The fairways were very muddy and the grass very long (it was like playing from the rough even if you hit your drive straight). Greens were bumpy. It’s a nice and challenging course with friendly staff but my word do they need to get the mowers out and work hard on the course conditions for the spring and summer.
Radcliffe-On-Trent
Course was fully open on all tee boxes and not hitting off fairway mats either. Superb condition considering the time of year, not many areas where it was boggy at all. The course itself is a good challenge for anyone, there's plenty of dogleg holes making your tee shot crucial to set up for your shot into the green. Staff and other players there were all very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be returning in the future and would recommend anyone to give it a try.
Afternoon round
Great course in great condition, stand out person was the barman who was very polite and had a great attention to detail. A great asset to the course.
Awesome
Arrived early to grab an excellent breakfast. Went on the warm up facilities which are as good as ante here. The coarse was in excellent condition, but chuffing eck the greens were so fast.
Couldn't of asked for more. Thank you
Made to feel welcome
Enjoyed playing the course made
To feel welcome in pro shop & clubhouse definitely worth a visit
Loveley course, and nice staff.
Great course, really enjoy playing it, the staff are all friendly, and I would definitely recommend playing their.
Unfriendly staff in pros shop
we were due to play at 1.50pm one of our party was later due to traffic works near the course, so l suggested to the young man on the pros shop that a 2 ball due to go out after use could go off before use, he was almost aggressive in his attitude that he would not allow this .
Nice course but a little slow
A friend and I booked Saturday afternoon and were pushed back 30min on arrival and told we were playing with two others from tee times. We were also bumped at the tee by a group of members. We gave up after about 14 holes because it was so slow. Nice course to go around in the evening or first thing I imagine. Not sure they appreciate non members.
Friendly welcome
I've played many golf courses, and this golf club tops for being a very friendly club.
For time of year course condition is very good.
Fab course
Overall a fine afternoon on a superb layout in nice condition...
