Rufford Park Golf & Country Club

Unlucky with the weather, very misty to begin and couldn't see the course layout / greens / flags.

Fairways were a bit bare and whilst the greens were pretty smooth, they did have the odd bump etc

Enjoyed the round it’s quite a long course but we’ll layed out snd quite a challenge

Course was good for a damp late October afternoon

Only complaint was that we finished about 5.20, got to the bar for 5.30, and they had turned the beer pumps off

& didn’t really have much of a choice of bottled beer to compensate

Would recommend the course but get to the bar early

Good course sadly around the greens the condition was awful. Most should have been under repair but they werent, overall its a good course apart from it being painfully slow stuck behind a few 4 balls which took around 20/30 mins a hole on the back 9 and didn't allow us to play through despite being a fast 2 ball.

Teed off at 1.20 pm. Had to shelter for 10 mins due to heavy downpour of rain. Finished at 5pm just as the daylight was fading. We walked to bar at 5.05pm to grab a drink and check our scorecards only to be told the bar had closed at 5pm. About 10 golfers were sat having a drink and chat whilst we had to get on our way without any refreshments.

It would be good if the staff provided refreshments asked golfers teeing off if they would be joining them for refreshments after their round and staying open for 5 to 10 mind accordingly.

Other than that the course was great.

A great course to play for the average golfer ( i try to play off 18) fairways and greens are always in great condition, excellent vistas and a welcoming clubhouse. Definitely my go to course in an area with so many choices.

A great course design, picturesque and challenging, top notch greens, very friendly and helpful pro at reception, members very welcoming.

Maybe because of no rain, but we haven’t had much in Sheffield and it’s only 20 miles away and fairways are still easily recognisable from the rough

Cracking facilities and course. Best greens I’ve played on recently.

Held up by 5 ball all round when asked got told they where members and in a competition is this a thing the course does as I have never seen a 5 ball in the uk before or do your members need teaching golf Etiquette??

First time visit

Great course layout , a good few trees but still quite open for any wayward drives however, shame 18th doesn’t finish in front of clubhouse instead of 9th

Greens in fantastic condition, fast and some challenging levels for all golfers

Fairways were hard and difficult to get your club under but that was down to the very dry spell we are experiencing and nothing else . I can imagine when all is green and lush this course would be a bargain at the £25 we paid

Some interesting holes not least 7 & 17 and a really long 13th (I think)

Onto the 19th ! Reasonably priced drinks and the Rufford Club Sandwich served with chips - deserves 5 stars on its own . (we did compliment kitchen staff on this)

Overall well worth a visit

The course has some lovely sloped greens and uneven fairways which add challenge. It's well kept and varied. Will be back.
