You get what you pay for
Got a Hot Deal on a Saturday afternoon, the course, especially the greens are in very poor condition, bunkers have nearly all been filled in & those that are left are not maintained & are hard & full of stones.
Quite quiet so got around nice & quick but clubhouse was closed when we got back about 6pm
Place needs some serious attention if it wants to attract more customers
Good Course
Played for the first time can be a little confusing with layout but staff gave a map on layout to help.
Interesting course could be a little long for beginner's.
A good challenge here and i will enjoy playing again.
Very friendly stagf
We did 18 holes on Sunday had great staff welcoming named Has. We didn’t call for a buggy but they still managed to get us one before we went out. Would recommend.
Staff were fantastic
Staff were really helpful, as we booked the wrong day and went above and beyond to help us out
Good course but greens need real work
The course set up is good and the value for money is excellent but the standard of the greens is sadly awful. They are bumpy and scuffed and mixed in length of grass. The course is well worth a visit if this issue is addressed
Excellent Value for money!
Played this course for the second time today. Course played very well where the gentle firmness of fairways and greens allowed the ball to roll out very well, impressive for a mid April round given the recent rain yesterday!
Some tee boxes and greens were evidently recently seeded but being early in the season, it works out great really and will certainly get better as the new seed beds in.
£40 on a Sunday for two of us is great value so can’t recommend enough!
Disappointing
After a very warm welcome from the lady in the pro shop our visit sadly went downhill. First part of the course is samey, flat and tree lined with many gorse bushes. Many bunkers have been removed and badly grassed over and those that remain are compacted with a mound of sand in each. Last 4 holes are very hilly and more challenging. Condition of greens poor and the whole course needs mowing. Bins full everywhere and toilets in clubhouse need cleaning. overall needs some tlc
Fair challenge
Not busy. Some holes (14/15) quite wet underfoot. Shame the club bar is not open as had to go to nearest local pub for a well- needed draught beer afterwards!
Rye Hill review
Great weather sunny and cold. Paid on line. Friendly welcome on arrival in club house.. Winter conditions some parts of course very wet and green conditions mixed but cannot complain for the price Hardly anyone on the course which was a bonus.
Club house closed on completion of round so had to find a local pub for the 19th!
Great despite crap weather!
Had a wonderful time playing this course despite the awful weather on the day. Course conditions were great, service in the clubhouse was even better. Would 100% recommend for a day out in the Cotswolds.
Lovely countryside course, excellent value. Recommended.
Lovely course. Friendly, welcoming staff. Super country views. Bunkers in various stages of being renovated when we visited but that was no detriment to our game. Benefitted from use of buggy. Enjoyed the visit very much. Will visit again. Recommended.
Bargain Course - Worth every penny
Played yesterday 07/09/24 and for £20 it was by far the best course I’ve played for that price range.
Great course layout, wide fairways, good speed on the green and great views (especially on 15 and 16)
Great experience, every time
Play this course a couple of times a month. An ex tour course that could do with a little love in some areas but all around it's fantastic. Good pace of play, some real challenging holes as you go around in terms of distance and and complexity. Staff are absolutely brilliant, anything you need they'll make it happen. Great variety of players when you go round too and never once come across a challenge with other players. Will continue to play here regularly for years to come.
Condition improving and hospitality is always amazing!
I’ve been playing this course now for 18 months as a back up course but everytime I’ve come back the condition has increased massively over the tile I’ve played. It’s an enjoyable course and you can tell it was a championship course for a reason! However the owners and hospitality is what makes this course so friendly and enjoyable to play as a visitor! Playing golf without the concern of how you will be received in the club house is always a massive positive! I look forward to playing here more often and just hope the course continues to be maintained as well as it has been.
Poor staff experience
The golfing experience was spoiled by a unwelcoming and even less helpful staff.
When asked if we could purchase the following items the response was No range balls, no trollies available or golf buggies.
Just make sure you are on the tee for your allotted time.
Overall the course was in good shape apart from the bunkers which where more wasteland than sand.
If I had to rate of 10 it would be a 4
Good Value for Money
Good value for money. Decent course, that is dominated with par 4’s. Definitely need to think about getting a buggy for the hotter months.
Bunker’s really need some care and attention given to them. Underwhelming when you always end up dropping behind the bunker, because you don’t want to damage your clubs by playing out the bunkers.
