Good quality course
Excellent set up at Sandburn proving very popular on a a mid week day. Pace of play was much better than last visit thankfully. Course in good autumnal condition greens a little slower but to be expected in October. Staff very professional and polite , just think £6 a pint is profiteering a bit too much.
I Recomend it
Greens had just had been sanded which is normal for the time of year but had to mark it down because of that, otherwise excellent. It had rained heavy for a couple of days and the course stood up to it very well. There's is a lot to like
A very good day
On arrival we checked in at the pro shop which was very efficient. The sports bar is well run and also works as a halfway house, we got a coffee and a bacon sandwich then headed out on to the course.
The course was in good condition and seemed to have coped well with the heavy rain.
There are some long holes, the scenery is great.
Three members let us through after six holes, unfortunately we hit a cue after ten and that was it for the rest of the round, very slow.
Nevertheless we really enjoyed it.
We had some food in the bar which rounded off a great day, I certainly would go back.
Thank you Sandburg Hall
Everything spot on
First time playing this course and it was very impressive. From the staff to the layout and condition of the course everything was perfect. Will definitely play it again.
Wow - Those greens
We play here two or three times a year travelling from Huddersfield simply because we like this course. We like the layout and the fact that there are no Mickey Mouse holes. Our round this time was let down a little by the pace of play but the quality of those greens compensated somewhat. More golf courses should advise fourballs that they should always wave two balls through but sadly more and more this doesn't happen.
Excellent challenging course
Lovely course. Greens in exceptional condition.
Some
Very tricky bunkers around the green which I luckily mostly avoided.
Great course very forgiving
For the time of year and rain downfall, the course was in exceptional condition. Thoroughly enjoyed the round and definitely be visiting again.
Very well kept
The course is very well looked after especially after the winter we have just had the fairways are like carpet and ball rolls lovely on them and not just stops, the greens are very well looked after and are running rather fast for winter time. The course has a few tight holes and a lot of forgiving ones making this course very enjoyable and that are all well designed making you think of your line choices.
The course
Had a really lovely afternoon. It was cold and we were the last ones in the course but the course was in good condition a bit wet on places but overall very good.

Boxing Day treat
Brilliant day out to say the time of year the course was in great condition, only two temporary greens and apart from a few fairways was relatively dry the greens where In great condition be it a little fast .
Club house very nice had a bacon butty and a coffee nice pro shop .
Overall a very enjoyable day !
Course in great condition
It was a lovely day and enjoyed our golf. Just a little too late going out as we didn’t finish last two holes as very dark and couldn’t see our balls. It was a treat for my husbands 75th birthday.

Overnight rain. No problem
Enjoyable course with wide fairways. Heavy overnight rain hardly affected the course except for waterlogged bunkers. The course always drains well.
Never Disappoints
This is the 5th time we've visited here this year and we have an 80 mile round trip to play. Occasionly the pace of play is slow ish, but we usually play in a two ball so I guess it's to be expected now and then. Other than that the course is great, a good test, nice surroundings and well presented.
Best course around North Yorkshire
Middle of September great fairways and awesome greens Water hazards and plenty of bunkers (well kept) hope to go back really soon.
Nice and easy but not worth the cost
Very forgiving course with wide fairways and well kept greens that were true.
Expensive for visitors given what the course is. Not much humour from the grumpy guy in the pro shop and £5 for the handle to an old trolly was exploitation. Worth a try but I wouldn’t rush back.
