Fantastic course well maintained .greens superb.recommend it to anyone no matter what handicap they play off .

All the Pro shop guys are friendly and easy to chat too and a credit to the club .

The course is brilliant and the greens better than anywhere else I have played recently.

Nice parkland course with well maintained fairways and greens. Rolling countryside within a semi urban setting. Quiet during my round so no hold ups and able to play at my own pace. Only difficulty was getting out of the car park after as not given the code or token to raise the barrier. Make sure you get this before you leave.

Let's get the important stuff out of the way 1st. Shaw Hill is a good test of golf and was very well presented when we played. Everywhere was tidy and looked great. The problem was the pace of play. We were a 2 ball behind a 4 ball in buggies who were themselves behind 3 groups of 3 balls in buggies or walking. We waited on every single shot and there was never any chance that we would be let through. This led to a 4 1/2 hour round and a great deal of frustration.

booked a hot deal for this course costing 20 pound each for wed 10/5/17 teeing off at 7.52am.arrived about 7.30am to find pro shop still closed but a greenkeeper kindly supplied us with a scorecard.course very quiet due to early tee off but course and greens in great condition.

Played for the first time played today. Club shop not open when we arrived. Golf course is more like a municipal standard. Poor signage after the 11th on where to find the 12th tee.

We played the course on good Friday and in all honesty the course should have been closed due to its condition . There were people let out in buggies which was just adding to the poor state as the course was sodden, , how the club can let them out I don't know . Unfortunately we had paid in advance or we would have left on arrival

Course is fairly good condition for the time or the year. Quiet in front so was able to motor around. A tad expensive perhaps given it's winter tees in places and mats throughout.

Shaw Hill represents a decent challenge even when the fairways are running well. The course was quiet wet in places- bunkers for example were compacted entirely. A few of the greens look like they have weeds. All the greens were in play, but all tees were mats.

Perhaps the most frustrating thing is that it's mats from the every lie. A On the other hand it was fairly busy but the pace of play was good, and the lady in the hotel reception very helpful.

I enjoyed a great round of golf with my son and his friend on a cold December morning. The last time I walked these fairways was 40 years ago as a caddy for my late father and I had wanted to play the course for some time since taking up golf myself 20 years ago. We had a great time with just one niggle that on a number of the winter tees there was nowhere to stick the tee peg, a strange design.

There were some really stunning holes, albeit shortened a lot due to winter greens and it didn't disappoint.

Course condition was reasonable, due to the layout there are some wet areas. Greens were good but not great more due to the time of year. I would definitely come back here but I would probably wait until after winter when it would be much drier. All in all great course, wrong time of year
