Friendly staff and great course!
First time playing this course and already arranged to come back again (this time with a buggy). Staff in shop were very welcoming and friendly, pace slowed down half way through but pro came out on his buggy and pace picked up again then. Great course with great views and would definitely recommend.
Really slow play, waiting on quite a few tees, probably because it was a Saturday. Also a few groups who probably play once a year. Course challenging but on the whole well kept and the staff in the clubhouse very friendly.
Brilliant
Absolutely amazing course will be returning in the summer although it will be a tough course the greens was so fast
Looking forwards to playing a summer round
We played in March as part of business meeting, they are still on winter Tees (which is understandable) but has disadvantages vs womens summer tees on a number of holes. It’s about 8.5mile walking according to the Watch tracker and is quite hilly but I was out for the exercise so I enjoyed it. Would return for an overnight stay followed by the spa the next day as that is also a really good experience. Sort of don’t want to tell anyone what a little gem it is as it will become too busy
Shrigley Hall Golf course review
Great course, quite challenging actually. Could play this course lots of times and not get bored. Good value for money too, perhaps the only downside is it could be considered a victim of its own success as it can get busy a lot of the time.
Thoroughly recommend, er or I shooting myself in the foot here?
Great Friendly Course
My first time playing Shrigley Hall and I really enjoyed it. Some very testing long par 4’s and the course is set in a beautiful location and surroundings..
Staff were very friendly and helpful will definitely return.
What a course!
Course was amazing and in great condition for the weather would definitely recommend getting a buggy as very long walk
Fantastic course
Brilliant course in great condition, some beautiful holes, the 18th final hole over water is great, can’t wait to go back
Excellent condition
The course was in superb condition considering the time of year.Fairways were great and so nice to have a course that has NO temporary greens
Love the layout of this course and a good mix of holes to keep you on your toes
A good challenge
Probably in the best condition of other courses I'd played locally for early January.
A really tricky test with lots of elevation changes, be prepared for a decent walk if you're carrying, think I was on 18,000 steps by the time I was finished, the course is set in a huge area of land so the holes aren't all crammed next to each other.
Clubhouse looks out over the 18th tee (over water) but was being refurbed, so we ate in the hotel's bar area, which was nice.
Would recommend
Lovely course and nice staff’
Played with my friend last Sunday fantastic course we had not played in over a year and have really wanted to play shrigley for years... unfortunately we got rained off on the 8th hole :( but enjoyed the holes we played.
Great course even in the wet
The course is in surprisingly good condition considering recent bad weather (snow, rain). The greens are as good as anywhere in Cheshire and are a credit to the course staff. People in the pro shop very friendly
Great course even in winter
A great course which challenges all. Even in winter it’s in good condition.
Shrigley Hall
This Course is challenging to walk in the best of weather, buggy use is essential as it is very hilly and exposed to the elements. The views across Manchester are a great feature. Due to a week of wet weather the Course should have been closed as 80% of the fairways were under considerable water and we had to play lift and place and by the time we tee’d off at 12noon heavy buggy use on the fairways had left deep muddy rutted tyre tracks on many of them, temporary mats were in use for tees on several holes, most greens however were in good condition. The overall experience was disappointing, I would liked to have discussed this at the pro shop at 4.30pm but it was closed. This was winter golf at it’s most challenging which was not reflected in the green fee.
Some tough holes
Great days golfing.
Greens were good for October, played here quite often over the last 18 months & usually this time of year means a few of the holes suffer from the wet, but not today.
The only reason I rated value for money a 3 was because all other courses reduce their price at this time of year.
Awesome views on a clear day & if you are lucky you’ll see a herd of wild deer.
