Shrigley Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club

The course was in good condition but on my visit was very busy. The course is very hilly up down and around with many blind holes and holes where you can't see who is in front of you. I'm no fan of buggies but I think on this course it's daft not to have one. The course is pretty and well maintained with excellent views but due to slow play and the hiilly nature of the course I was glad when my round was over

1st time playing at Shrigley Hall and it didn't disappointment.

Course was in great condition and the layout was brilliant

Some great holes to test all levels and the views to Manchester were superb

Can't wait to play again

Given the reputation of shrigley hall j was dissapointed with the course. Variable greens, average condition and extremely slow play. 5.5 hours to play the round.

What a course, was in excellent condition. Considering it was the first time playing, when I play again will definitely hire a buggy as carrying makes it a longer course.

Very testing course, recommend getting a buggy. Narrow fairways no room for error.

What a surprise and a pleasure at Shrigley Hall. I hadn’t played SH for a number of years but it won’t be so long next time. The course was in superb condition and was presented in pleasing to the eye way. I didn’t like the change to the last hole I thought the par 5 finish was better and the loss of the long par 3 on the back 9 which has been replaced with a very short par 4 is also a mistake but I guess that’s down to personnel preference.

We played the course on a Sunday which meant we were stuck behind many 4 balls, it took us 4.5 hours to get round as a 2 ball. Course was in good condition other than due to the current sunny weather we’ve had it was very firm, which given the amount of slopes and bumps on the course meant it was virtually impossible to play or hit the green. Balls were bouncing off sloped fairways into thick rough and then they were lost which seemed slightly harsh. Similarly the greens were very fast to the point anything just short or on would shoot straight off the back, not sure if some water would help them. Overall not bad but certainly better courses in the area.

1st time playing and it shown.. firstly it is very hilly so I'd advise hiring one of the 100 buggies they have parked outside.. secondly pay attention from where you teeing off from.. I finished the 5 and teed straight off and made a par on what I thought was the 6th, until I walked upto the next tee which said 18th!

I had to walk all the way back and find the 6th.. the only disappointment would be lack of signage.

Very challenging course with some holes that are risk reward with being able to attempt to drive the par 4s onto the green (something I didn't achieve)

Would play again but would hire a buggy for sure!

Great track if you’re fit as a fiddle! I’ll be getting a buggy next time. Course is in good condition and visually stunning. Worth getting a course guide/map.

Great course, well laid out, great condition and fairly challenging, no waiting at all. Would really recommend buggy hire.
