Very slow play
I have played shrigley previously but this round was exceptionally slow. Waiting on every shot and not being waved through. Course was very muddy. Greens were good but slow. It is a very hilly course with long walks between tees.
Hilly and slow but a great course
This is a great course, it’s very hilly and unless you are a fit golfer you will need a golf cart.
Course was in very good condition in mid October.
Unfortunately there was a lot of slow play and it took nearly 5 hours to do 18 on Sunday.
Great Course!
My first visit to Shrigley Hall was a real pleasure, the course was in great condition and is up there with the best courses that I’ve played.
I particularly enjoyed the challenging nature of the course layout and the greens. Both the pace, and undulations of the greens make it a really challenging game of golf.
Overall, I really enjoyed my day at Shrigley Hall, highly recommend:)
Use a buggy!
You might enjoy a walk with your golf but this place is hilly and long! 7 miles of walking today and played well!
First few holes could do with a bit of work and be a bit more exciting as feel a bit like a field but once you get past the third, it starts to come alive.
Great views, great holes which make you think!
Super test of golf, course was in great condition with lightning quick greens. Tough walk overall as very hilly in many areas due to location and would probably go with a buggy option next time.
Fantastic views of the countryside and highly recommend.
What a course!!
Great golf course. Some really challenging holes where you have to plot your way around. Possibly the best par 3 hole i’ve ever seen, an elevated tee box to a green that’s well protected. Great views from the top once you’ve tackled a few hills. 5/5 and can’t wait to play it again.
Rainy day at Shrigley Hall
We played on a day when it had been raining for days, despite that the course was in great condition. The course is truly gorgeous with a fantastic layout. The holes are well thought out and some of them are really challenging. The greens were in amazing condition given the wet weather. You need to bring your course management hat as some holes are all about position.
Unfortunately we had to end the round early as it started to rain very heavily and didn’t stop. We will be back as we loved the course, I highly recommend playing this amazing course.
Really enjoyed playing on this course, challenging and picturesque course . In good condition. Was surprisingly quiet
Picturesque Shrigley Hall
Very picturesque course with lots of interest and variety including many dog legs and characterful, challenging par 3s. When I played here the course was in excellent condition. I will definitely be returning!
Cracking course
I had read the reviews warning that the course was hilly, but i didn't see as an issue. Some fantastic holes follow a benign opening 4.
Including some particularly elevated tee / green shots.
I played Friday afternoon and felt we had the course to ourselves.
Will be returning
Get a buggy
Nice course but very hilly, as first timers we walked it but quite a few were in buggies. There are also a lot of blind shots so if you don't know the layout the buggy will allow you to quickly nip to the top of the hill and see what your playing to.
