Sidmouth

A very challenging course due to the fact that the course was placed in a valley, hence the first 9 holes being up hill with a fall to the right and the second nine being down hill with a fall to the left. Strenuous to walk but a great work out and the views were to die for. Loved it!

Generally very enjoyable but it did feel confined and surprisingly busy. Greens in good condition, fairways and paths a little less so. Some difficulty with cross fall on dry fairways. Makes driving accuracy very important.

Be prepared for a number of steep climbs and downhills 8-12. Care is required as some shots are blind and holes cross each other and share fairways, 1/18 and 9/10.

I will play again, in perhaps 6-12 months.

Lovely little shortish course.

Only par 66 but don't let that put you off? Highly undulating with plenty of blind holes, we were glad we hired a buggy. Took a couple holes to get used to, as the ball is well below your feet on the first few on the way out. Beautifully scenic views over the town and some well sculptured holes, Only one par five but plenty of varying par threes, from 120 to over 200 yards with lots of straight ups and downs. I would suggest you buy a course planner, even though there are diagrams of the holes on the tee boxes. Unfortunately the Pro' shop didn't have any when we visited as they hadn't been delivered at that time. Some good advice to us from one of the members was "everything goes to the sea" and he was right.

A special place

I had a really interesting game. A very testing course with little level ground which winds up a steep valley and back down again with woodlands either side. Fantastic sea views .

Breathtaking views

Lovely course with superfast and difficult to read greens. Quite hilly in places so would recommend a buggy if not pretty fit. Used nearly every club in the bag which makes a nice change from the usual driver mid iron that you use on longer courses. Despite being quite short yardage wise, the sloping fairways and hilly topography make it a good challenge. Some of the views are breathtaking, The clubhouse does lovely food, and a good selection of beers and ciders. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Rolling Hills

This is a nice, very well maintained course; not overly long, with a quite a few par 3s. It was in lovely conditions with hardly any weeds on fairways and good fast greens. If you like your golf courses on rolling parkland with quite narrow fairways then you will like this. The one problem was that with the course being generally slopping and in firm condition the ball simply ran off the fairways no matter where you hit it, which was rather frustrating. It is a course that is better for knowing I suspect, but a good day out and good value for money.

Dont let the short seeming holes put you off!

Thoroughly enjoyed my round here. The hilly topography that the course is located on provide some breath-taking views out to see and there are some lovely holes where the changes in elevation make for some considerable challenges. The greens were very very fast!

The clubhouse was very accommodating and the food /drink afterwards was excellent for the price.

Well worth a round if you are in the area.
