Really lovely course, although it would be 100% (5 star) better if there was more bunkers or even water hazards on each/most holes. This would make it a lot more interesting. Apart from that really beautiful course's.

Also

You need to place the flags near to the centre of the holes as a pose to the edge's.

Very friendly, Very forgiving, Great value

Course was in amazing condition, lady on the front desk was very helpful and inviting.

Half way house is one of the best I’ve seen to pick something up at half time!

As for the course it’s very forgiving and mistakes can be rectified, I found the fairways bouncy for some reason but I didn’t mind this I just didn’t take driver out.

Greens were very well kept and the first cut rough was excellent.

All in all great experience will be returning!

Nice Course

I like this course and think it represents excellent value for money (my round was £20).

The course is set out nicely and wasn't busy so I had no pace of play issues.

The only issue I have is that numerous holes had grass cuttings at the side of the fairways or back of the greens, this resulted in a couple of lost balls that would have been easy to find if not for the cuttings.

Always a pleasure

Great little course.

Pros: easy to find, fairways in very good condition, clubhouse and bar area spotless.

Cons: showers and toilets are hopeless, no draught drinks at all, greens slow in comparison with other local courses.

Overall: love this course for all its little faults.

Nice easy little course

Have played this course for a number of years. It is a fairly flat course which lacks variation hence only 3 stars on the layout. However, it is in great condition and under £30 per round makes it great value for money. Would recommend.

Friendly tough....

Open enough to have a bad drive (or 5) the rough was harsh but playable.

Halfway house well place & reasonably priced 😜

Swing away forget about the trouble

What can I say, booked this course last minute after a hot deal popped up and I felt like I almost committed a crime playing here for £24 at the end of my round. What a steal!

I am a mid to high handicap golfer, and sometimes courses while they may look amazing just throw too many obstacles in my way. However this course was generous to someone of my skill set.

When you hit a drive and hope someone says “I hope it opens up round there” you are in luck here at South Cerney. The fairways were in immaculate condition and the greens were pure. There’s some trouble out there in the form of some carefully placed trees and tee box’s but all in all I really enjoyed playing here. My only criticism was the green keeper must have had a bad day by the time he got to cutting the cup on 18, criminal pin placement.

Slightly disappointed at the lack of club memorabilia in the clubhouse, I like to get a ball or ball marker from each course I play but was told they do not have stuff like this in the pro shop (staff was lovely anyways)

Wanna have a chilled round on your own or with friends, get out there.

A gem of a course!

First time playing South Cerney. Managed to secure an early Saturday morning tee time on a beautiful day.

Turned up to a super quiet golf club and first impressions were good.

As soon as we had tee’d off it was apparent about how well looked after the course was. Immaculately kept and the greens although a bit slow were rolled lovely.

A bonus was the half way house food and drink ordering service by phone call.

Logistically the transition from front to back nine meant you passed through a horse stable like covering with all other amenities like toilets, half way house, clubhouse and range.

Loved the surrounds and although we were lucky enough to play early so don’t know what it would be like when really busy it was a pleasure.

Would return no questions asked.

Outstanding golf club

Early tee off but the ground staff had already been out on the course which was absolutely immaculate. Stayed for a spot of lunch and a drink in a very friendly and welcoming clubhouse . Do yourself a favour and book a round at this outstanding golf club.

Lovely course with a few obstacles

Good day out with a friend 😀 quite long and flat with a few hidden obstacles making it easy to get into trouble ! Greens in superb condition. Very good value for money with friendly staff and will definitely come back 👍

Club allowing 5ball groups!

I’ve just played at South Cerney. Avoid. They had allowed (or not policed) 5balls which meant a 4 hour round on a short par 70 course 🤬

Shame. The course is rustic but in reasonable condition. Greens on the slow side. Tidy.

The fact that there were at least 2 groups of 5 balls (on a Saturday mid morning) is not good!
