Stafford Castle Golf Club (9 holes 18 tees)

Prior to booking there was no clear information made available about the fact this is a 9 hole golf course with 18 tee locations. On arrival there is no pro shop or indication of where booked in players can acquire a score card, nor how the playing system works, it was only down to another player explaining this to us so thank you to them.

When out on the course however it is in great condition with great variance of hole difficulty and was a joy to play. Would recommend to others for a nice relaxing round of golf for sure. Will play again.

Lovely course poor design

Honestly the course was lovely from the fairways to the views it was absolutely amazing but the only thing that has let me down was how complicated it was for you to find out where to tee off it was not greatly singed posted on where to go etc.

Excellent Value for Money

Played this course a few times and believe it is excellent value for money especially the twilight rates.

Challenging parkland course that has well maintained fairways but beware of the difficult to read and fast greens.

I hope to return soon.

Decent

Quite surprised by this nine hole eighteen tee track, not to be underestimated by any means. The greens are good, fairways are well cut and for £10 on a twilight excellent vfm. Only gripe was the finishing hole, it was totally blocked out by the trees more or less an impossible shot. Overall though not bad at all and I shall return.

The staff were quite welcoming especially the bar staff. the Course is very well maintained and was in lovely condition. I think there will always be issues when you have 9 holes and 18 tees as groups merge but it wasn't too problematic on this occasion. More of an issue were the 4 ball of senior members who tee'd off in front of us and wouldn't let us play through (we had been told on the tee box to tee of from the 4th hole to avoid them as they wouldn't let us through). Then there was another two ball who told us they were also members and seemingly had the right to push there way past us as we waited for the four ball on the 2nd tee. In summary a nice course and friendly staff, but I think a number of the people we encountered on the day could do with a refresher in golf course etiquette.
