Stockley Park Golf

Fairway and green condition was poor. No grass at tee off points. Should have more signage to next hole.

There was no grass on the tee boxes. Greens were half dead. Fairways were rock solid. Decent layout and has decent potential if it was looked after.

Nice course…no one infront of us so played at a good pace. Will defo be back. Make staff member who we checked in with in the golf shop was very friendly and helpful

Tee off areas were as Poor aa the greens, hardly watered all dried out.

No Markings, example 150yds to flag.

Course grass could have been cut. Only decent part were the bunkers.

Pros: Good layout, friendly staff, easy access from highway, value for money.

Cons: Green condition sometime not too good.

Good layout of the course but needs a lot of maintenance. Greens were in poor condition. The clubhouse is very good.

Played with friends on 7/6/25, actual course layout is very good and varied, however the course is in desperate need of some TLC

Tees and greens are well below average , however with some attention and repair would give the course a minimum 4/5 marking

The other seriously frustrating things were no yardage markers at all, so was having to guesstimate distances, again minimal investment required, also a lack of rubbish bins means there is a considerable amount of litter thrown everywhere

So all in all for a minimal amount of investment this course would be an excellent daybout

Found that the course was in good condition v other clubs in the local area.

Some interesting holes and most were quite individual- it was pretty slow but overall we enjoyed the facility.

Will definitely play again

Upon arrival it is likely that you will not find the course parking area because the signage is not very clear and fines for being in the wrong park are issued all day.

The actual course is quite long and open however there are hardly any signage, we ask in the pro shop and was told that it is very difficult to find your way around but try to catch up on the group ahead and follow them. Alas the only person we ran into was lost and asking for direction themselves.

We spent about 30 minutes trying to find holes 11 and 16.

It’s fair to say I will never golf here again.

I did not mind the un kemp fairways, nor the poor greens but wasting my time trying to locate hole is un forgivable!!!

Managed to get a hot deal on this one luckily as I wouldn’t have paid £40 to play it. The fairways were patchy not great but playable. As for the greens omg hardly and green grass on them ,covered in dead grass and sand. Could be an amazing course if some attention paid to the greens

The course looked fantastic, best I’ve seen it in last 10 years.

They have done a lot of improvements over the winter months

Layout pleasant, staff v friendly, course not in great condition, tees greens bunkers etc. Greens very patchy and bumpy.

Good value for money. Course conditions are never great at SP but a very enjoyable round anyway.

We had fertiliser on the greens which was a bit annoying to putt over when I played yesterday

I played stockley a number of times over the years each time conditions got progressively worse to the point i took it off my playing list. Due to last minute cancellation I had time to play and stockley had times and reasonable prices. On booking my expectations were low.

On arriving I was pleasantly surprised the course was not as bad as I expected. The fairways were firm bar a few which were wet but for the time of year most courses would have a few wet fairways.

Greens were the major concern but they were running extremely fast. Faster than some summer greens I played before. Which made them tricky but enjoyable. The problem with the greens they have a moss disease which probably requires replacement and shutdown. There was a few holes in places. Pitch marks from lazy golfers.

Note some of holes have a good distance between not a problem for me but some might dislike to additional walk.

It’s a shame how the course conditions are as I love the course layout and it’s a fine course scoreable but still a test.

For the time of year it’s in reasonably good condition so I would advise to play it taking into account what I have said above to avoid being disappointed. The course well suited for new golfers and casual golfers.

I will return in the summer and hope they can keep it to good playing standard as for me it’s an enjoyable course layout.
