Always great
I first played Stoneleigh at a charity day (fight for sight) and enjoyed the course so much that since then we've played here on average 3 to 4 times a year, it's a good hours drive so this will give you an indication of what we think of the course. It's got some tricky and interesting holes (the 6th is pretty tricky!) but isn't a hugely difficult track. Always in excellent condition, staff are some of the friendliest i've come across, especially one of the chaps who works behind the bar (sorry forgot his name) who always has a smile on his face. Always found the greens excellent (of course if you time it during maintenance then this is just one of those things and has to be done). We also often play the par 3 course which is great value making it 27 holes for the day.
Excellent
An excellent coarse to play .. considering the time of year the fairways and greens were in great condition! There’s a few tees brought forward due to condition but it doesn’t take away the challenge of the coarse.
2 ball midweek round in October.
The post code for this course leads you to Stoneeleigh Village and the course was not locally signposted making it difficult to find.
The course condition was poor. Greens were slow and bumpy. Fairways had little grass and tee areas were neglected.
The course is situated in a beautiful mature park area and looks stunning until you actually start to play.
Pace of play for our two ball was just over 4 hours due to a very slow Senior 4 ball in front who would not invite us to play through.
Clubhouse, food, drink and service were all good.
I would be reluctant to play this course again.
A nice walk
A goog layout with fast difficult greens. The greens had been hollow tined but ran true and fast. Some greens difficult to hit due to size or shape and with some large slopes.
This is the only course that I have played that has no fairway bunkers. If they were added it would add to some fairway definition and add some extra challenge off the tee. Quite a few holes had no bunkers at all.
A nice touch was the course buggie on the 15th hole for everyone to make use of.
Course was immaculate.staff were friendly a good days golf
Great course
The course was really enjoyable, it has great facilities and it well worth the money. It has varied challenges but is a forgiving course, not too many hazards but enough to keep you thinking.
StoneLeigh Deer park
Nice open course, well maintained at a good price.good value for money.
ALL GOOD
GREENS A LITTLE BUMPY BUT OVER ALL IN DECENT CONDITION
Lovely course
Big open spaces - forgiving wayward drives, plus some very tight greens
Very enjoyable
We had perfect weather to enjoy our round at this lovely course.
Despite a long period of dry hot weather the fairways and greens were in great condition.
It is a testing course in places but never daunting, each hole had its own character.
Fairly wide fairways with a nice second cut which meant we were able to find and more importantly play, any wayward shots.
Great course avoid during the day
The course was great I didn’t have a bad thing to say about it other than I’ve not played another course that’s got quite so many oar 5s on it.
Unfortunately we were behind a society and they were slow not a little bit slow really really slow on the 16th hole there was 3 people on playing and the back 9 was 10 min wait per hole basically avoide 12:45 tee and you will be fine
Wide open parkland delight
If you need plenty of room in amongst some ancient oaks this course is good fun. Strange mix of par 5s and par 3s especially when the first par 3 you come across is 200+ yards and narrowest green ever and then most of the others are 100 yards pitch n putt.
Enjoyed it though as some cracking holes. Greens a little slow but generally in good condition. Would definitely play again
Very enjoyable experience
Played on this course a few times before, and each time I'm even more impressed than the last. We played on a lovely sunny evening with very few players around, and it was like playing abroad. The greens were in tip top condition although a little slow, and the fairways were well defined and neatly mown. We finished around 9pm and the very friendly staff were only too pleased to serve us and stay behind whilst we finished our drinks. Thankyou for a very enjoyable experience !
