Theydon Bois Golf Club

My second time playing this course. Greens and tees are superb. Winds through Epping Forest. Beautiful layout. Not long but challenging. You have to think your way around.

Very friendly staff and members.

Very good pace of play. Got round in 3.5 hours.

Really well maintained golf course, very tight fairways. The greens are also challenging, we really enjoying playing Theydon and will definitely return again.

This is a short course but not easy. The greens are superb. Fairways very good with one or two exceptions where some new drainage lines cross the fairway but did not affect enjoyment. Tees are excellent. . Easy walking course. Very pretty. Good signage and course furniture (ball cleaners on Tee areas etc).

Requires plotting your way round rather than long drives and approach shots, although there are a good number of holes requiring Driver from the Tee.

Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Made me feel at home.

Need to cross a road to get to final few holes was the only negative. But this was only a very minor inconvenience.

Only took 3.5 hours to play with good pace of play and spacing of Tee times. Very enjoyable round.

It cost £25 per round on a Monday and we went round in under four hours.

Course was in a good condition, a little bit mixed in places but the fairways were decent and bunkers were immaculate. Only challenge was the greens are just been seen too so everything was a bit sandy.

Overall a lovely course, really interesting place, and staff were really really friendly especially the pro shop.

100% recommend everyone to play, and would also say it’s super interesting as driver isn’t really needed so that makes it a more thoughtful course.

The course has held up well after a wet winter and they've sorted the leaf issues out. Price has gone back up to summer rates before 2pm which are quite expensive for what it is. I don't think I'll be playing there again until the prices go back down now as the jump is too great. Twilight has also gone up from 15 to 20 quid which is a good price but a 33% rise.

Nice course at a good price. Lots of leaves in the rough though. I know it's winter but they still need dealing with. Slightly off course and ball gone!

Was a bit worried as we had two days of torrential rain before playing. The course was very dry apart from the odd puddle which was off fairway and green . Most tees were grass and the few with mats were good . A thoroughly good round of golf topped of with a nice Guinness in the friendly clubhouse after .

Great looking course. Friendly staff throughout the day. Course in good condition. Greens were very smooth. Ten out of ten. Every hole has a different story with an individual challenge. With only one par 5, the course didn’t feel quite as long as it is but it’s tricky and you need to manage your round, ensuring you work out the correct shot on every hole. Great fun

Wie schon viele andere Bewertungen schreiben hat der Platz einige Löcher bei denen ein Driver nicht benötigt wird oder eher zu riskant ist, um in eine gute Lage für den Schlag auf s Grün zu kommen. Der Platz erfordert daher auf einigen Löchern gutes Course Management, obwohl diese nicht sehr lang sind. Trotz der Trockenheit waren die Bahnen gut spielbar, Abschläge, Grüns und Bunker sind in einem gute Zustand. Zum Einspielen stehen ein kleines Gün und zwei Abschlagboxen zur Verfügung. Von der Terrasse der Bar hat man einen schönen Bick auf das Grün der 18 und Abschlag 1.

Für das Greenfee ist dieser Platz eine klare Empfehlung!

A challenging course with a lot of tree’s lining the fairways. Front 9 was harder than the back 9 but both were challenging.

Greens were slow in pace, many of them two tiered.

Well worth the money at £22 on Friday afternoon work round.

Went to play Theydon Bois a week ago was brilliant from start to finish excellent service in the pro shop very helpful the members made us feel very welcome who we met before playing and the course was very interesting and fun. The food was very good in the club house and will be back again soon for another round would thoroughly recommend this course 5 star.
