Todmorden Golf Club

Second time of playing here on an early Saturday afternoon. Normally getting a decent tee time at a club is hard, but both times we've played here we have been the only group out, yes at prime time on a Saturday! Don't let this discourage you, this is a gem of a course. Tight greens for your approach, well placed drives are all things to think about. Then there are the views.....

By my own ignorance I booked Todmorden without checking if it was 18 holes. The reviews I read were good so I just booked.
I should have checked!
Anyway we gave it a go and it was ok, not brilliant but ok. Having recently played Sedbergh, the two courses are vastly different in set up and presentation.
Tod offers the one extra hole and tee position but the other holes are played from the same tee beds. The greens were disappointing, having read the reviews they were not as I expected.
The layout is good and as not many we’re playing, the pace was excellent. The 7/16 offered an interesting challenge and if you play they’re definitely the best two holes.
I may have been spoilt playing other 9/10 hole courses so this didn’t do it for me.
If you travel to play various courses it may be worth a visit.
There were staff present and the bar closed so I can’t comment on those points.

Spectacular views surround the course,, being on top of the moors there are some uphill holes but the course is laid out very well. Really enjoyed our game and a friendly club.

No one in reception upon arrival. So went to tee off. Met a friendly couple of players at the first tee who very kindly offered to guide us through the first 9 holes... Great company (Kev and Bill).... The course way quite challenging, but very enjoyable with great surrounding views. Unfortunately club house was closed... But had a great time for the price

Great course and stunning views. A really well looked after course. Challenging par 4s and a great par 3.

New to the course and had a blast! Super views, lovely fairways and greens. Would highly recommend as the value for money is top notch!!

First time visitor to Todmorden. Situated high above the town, there are panoramic views of the pennines from every hole. It's a physically exerting course and most holes play up or down hill. Thisbalso makes for some tricky lies and club choice is a constant test. Greens in good condition despite recent winter treatment and ground maintenance team was on course working bunkers and greens.

The Clubhouse was locked on the day I played and I relied on the hospitality of a member to dig out a score card and direct me to the first tee.

I played at my pace front 9 but encountered some holds up on second loop - that's the nature of 9 hole courses.

Amazing views and a constant wind factor even on a calm pleasant day. Would like to return when the club house is open.

Honestly one of the best courses I have ever played at. Booked this a little last minute but it definitely delivered. The course was a good challenge but never felt like a slog. The fairways were well kept and the greens were immaculate.
I will definitely be returning for another round whenever I am back in the area.

Another wonderful round at the course of many views. You can’t beat this course in the area. Friendly staff, beautifully kept and welcoming members. You have to play it!

First time playing this course, it was very busy but that was due to a tournament so I didn’t mind that to much.

The course its self was immaculate and very dry considering the amount of rainfall we have had recently. The greens were also in incredibly good condition. Its fairly challenging with a few blind tee shots and the views from 7 and 16 are something else.

I would highly recommend this course, great value for money, stunning views and friendly members.
