Todmorden Golf Club

Great little course above Todmordan in excellent condition with some really nice holes great views

First time playing and I will definitely return and make it one of my regular courses. The views of the surrounding countryside and Todmorden are amazing. The layout of holes, topography, flora and fauna are some of the best I've seen on a local moorland course.

I played in the morning after we'd had heavy rain all night and the ground was dry and well drained.

Constructive criticism... The greens were not great. Firm but patchy and quite long grain. To be blunt, I have played better greens on ill kept, overplayed municiple courses. I think they might have earthworm problems. However I could see they had been aerated and seeded within a few days prior and they do have irrigation hydrants so the Greenkeepers are making efforts to recover them.

I can't comment on friendliness of staff because the clubhouse was closed on arrival and when leaving. I attempted to call before my round for some information but there was no answer after multiple attempts and no option to leave a voice message. There are no par 5's but a couple of 400+ yard par 4's with interesting challenges downrange which might aswell be par 5's into the wind.

Off course facilities include 2 decent practice nets. 2 practice greens and a bit of a practice ground which aren't great but you have options to get a few shots in before a round.

Lovely balcony outside the clubhouse with a great view but didn't get chance to try inside. Plenty of parking and a nice drive up the private road on approach.

Looking forward to playing again and introducing others.

I love this course so much. Played here many times, and it's definitely one of my favourites in the 30 mile radius.

It always seems very empty whenever we're playing though for some reason. I can't believe it's not more popular. We had the whole course to ourselves on Sunday, which was one of the most glorious days of the year so far. Not a cloud in the sky.

More people should play here to ensure it has a future because, at the moment, I really don't get how they can afford to pay the greenkeepers.

Lovely course…perfect day full of sunshine..the only downside we were unable to get a drink once we had finished our round

Only played 4 holes . But the Captain offered us a freeplay because of the rain . Also helped us with a problem

Went for a round of 18 and il be honest was sceptical about the course as I’ve played all around uk were the reviews say brilliant and they are not there horrendous , so went with a open mind , Anyways wen we arrived the staff in the club house was extremely friendly and very helpful once set up we was off to the 1st tee from there wow the views itself was amazing worth the green fees alone the full course fantastic at times challenging I would definitely recommend this place probably the most I’ve enjoyed a game in along time 1st class place even got plenty of nature around il definitely be back there in the near future thanks.

I last played here in 1992 when I was a member and the tress now maturing were only saplings. They now give the fairways a tighter feel but add months beauty ofvthis stunning course.

Course was very busy and understandably so but I got stuck behind some learners until they finally allowed me to.pjay through.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this course to anyone irrespective of your standard. If I lived closer then I would still be a member.

Played this course for the first time and will absolutely be returning. For the time of year the course was immaculate and greens were brilliant. I imagine this course in summer is fantastic. The course was a good challenge with some awesome holes, Hole 6 par 3 is a standout, very fun hole.

Everyone we spoke to was extremely friendly, and welcoming. For the price you cannot go wrong

Good condition, somewhat challenging 9-hole course. Nobody around to check in with or get a course scorecard which was a bit disappointing but maybe a club shop was hidden away??

I'd recommend going heavy on the bug spray as they were very lively once I'd started to sweat even a little. Met a helpful member on the way round so it had a welcoming feel to the place, despite the 'hidden' shop. All in all, I'd certainly play there again.

Beautiful 9 hole course. Really interested mix of holes and amazing views over Todmorden and the surrounding countryside.

It was winter greens unfortunately, but understandable due to the wet ground.

The club house wasn't open before or after our round which is a shame because it's a lovely spot for a pint.

Will return the n a few weeks, hopefully the regular greens will be in play then.

Second time of playing here on an early Saturday afternoon. Normally getting a decent tee time at a club is hard, but both times we've played here we have been the only group out, yes at prime time on a Saturday! Don't let this discourage you, this is a gem of a course. Tight greens for your approach, well placed drives are all things to think about. Then there are the views.....
