Very Hilly but brilliant course
My only negative feedback is this covid! Buggies aren't in operation snd its a very hilly course. Me snd my friends ran out of steam by the 15th hole. It was in brilliant condition though and I'd definitely play again. Very challenging but enjoyable
Windy when it’s not
Nice course, holding well to the wet conditions. Super greens. Due to elevated position, this course is windy when it’s calm. Very challenging in breezy conditions. Quite a few blind tee shots. Didn’t use the club house but I know it’s a nice bar etc under normal conditions.
Great views over Burnley.
Gem of a course
Played this course for the first time and will definitely be returning. The staff in the club shop were very accommodating, the course was interesting, challenging and in great condition all round. I would go as far as saying that it’s probably the best course that I’ve played this year. Absolute credit to everybody involved up there at Burnley, can’t wait to return.
What a great course. Great challenge in brilliant condition - fab tees and greens despite heavy rain the week prior.
great value too. Didn't try the amenities due to C19 but will be back for sure
Cracking course
This course is very well managed. Fairways, greens. Just the general layout.
Well worth a visit. I'll be back.
A good challenge
1st visit to Burnley GC the course is dry & in very good condition impressive greens well maintained and plenty of subtle pins to challenge your putting, you need to be fit to cope with the slopes but every time you reach the top you get a great view of the surrounding area. There were a number of blind shots that made the round harder for 1st timers but would definitely recommend & I intend to play again soon.
Due to covid I booked online & didn’t visit the clubhouse.
Magnificent Course
Course in fantastic condition for time of year. Some really great holes. Only downside is there are a number of blind teeshots. Overall magnificent
Blind Alley!!!!
We revisited Burnley after playing with a society earlier in the year. Love the course. Great layout. The main reason for our return was that there was so many blind shots it was nice to know what was over the brows and dips. Even saying that we still got a few wrong but it just adds to the experience. It’s a good all year round course aswell. I myself played on New Year’s Eve one year and it was excellent. Well worth a visit!!!!
Descent practice area aswell!!!
Good challenge
If you like a challenging course this is the course for you blind tee shots, windy course is in good condition
Good challenge
Played for the first time today. If you looking for a challenge with plenty of blind tee shots then this is the course for you. Course was in good condition and nice and firm greens were quick and ran very true
Well worth the visit
Played this course over twenty years ago, and revisited it to find that it's as good as I had remembered it.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, would recommend this course for all abilities, tough but fair.
Fantastic course
Tee boxes perfect as are the fairways. Some lovely holes from elevated tee boxes. Especially the 18th which is from a tee box up in the sky down to a green in front of the club house. A real fun golf course. Only slight issue was the sand on the greens as they were trying to improve them so cant really complain about them wanting to make them better. They still ran true and were flat. Was very impressed and will play it again in the future 100%
Burnley golf course
Nice course good challenge for anyone makes you think about were to aim with it been on hills some nice layouts on the green .Bit wet first thing in the morning didn't help with sand on them as they had spiked the greens and sanded them dont let that put you off as work needs to be done to keep them in good condition. As the morning went on it dried out the greens got a bit faster and you had to judge your putts again .overall very good course and staff very friendly I would recommend it to anyone .I would say if you don't like walking up and down hills hire a buggie very good views as well
Stunning views and a good quality course
I really enjoyed this course despite the greens being dressed. The views are stunning overlooking the town and surrounding hills. Good quality fairways and greens. Some very interesting holes. A few blind holes but really friendly members who were keen to offer visitors advice on where to aim. Shop/Club facilities are excellent. The wind played its part in our round. The course is high up and quite exposed. It was challenging but still really playable and reasonable to score on. We will go back over Autumn / Winter months as feel this will drain and play extremely well in comparison to some of the lower level parkland courses in the area.
Friendly club
Excellent service in pro shop. Great views and well designed course with some challenging holes. Unfortunately the greens had been hollow tined and heavily sanded, which made putting impossible.
Worth a visit if the weather if fine.
Burnley Golf Club
The round was initially booked for 27/07/20, however due to the horrendous weather conditions I phoned the professional and asked if the round could be moved to the 30/07/20. This was done without any problems and was much appreciated by myself and playing partners.
The course was in excellent condition and the greens were fast and true, the grounds staff and green keepers should be complimented on this.
Anybody that has not played the course should do so as the views of Pendle hill and surrounding countryside are worth the visit in itself, however you should also be aware that if you visit on windy day it can be a very challenging course to play as it is high on the hills above Burnley.
I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Burnley Golf Club.
Excellent Course
This is a little gem with superb quick greens and nice layout. It played tough with the wind and odd showers but thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth more visits
Tough test but worth it for the views
Nice course, well maintained and interesting architecture/layout. Some dramatic longer second shots and par 3s which make for a tough test. Every hole seems to up hill so prepare for your legs to burn. Views over East Lancs are great.
