Greens!
The greens were the only thing that let this course down. They were not well kept at all, they were cracked and bumpy making a simple putt a whole puzzle itself! But aside from the traumatic greens, the course was lovely and the hole lengths were perfect for practicing short game
Poor condition, unsupervised
What could be a charming little pitch and putt in a beautiful location is sadly spoilt by a couple of factors.
Firstly, the greens are in terrible shape. One would expect June greens to be in prime condition but there are large patches of bare soil, uneven surfaces, and even divots.
Secondly, with no stewards on the course and the hut closed, there are clearly many players, especially after 5pm, who have not paid.
There were teenagers in a group of seven, swearing and hitting golf balls to random points on the course.
Lads after work shouting and going round as many times as they wanted in whatever order they fancied.
It’s only a pitch and putt but there should still be a basic level of respect for the course and other golfers.
The course layout is an ideal place for my son to learn the game but based on this experience, sadly, I won’t be back.
It's ok ,bit pricey
First time on here using pitch and putt not bad little area for pitching,Greens could do with a little TLC .
Staff friendly, but 6.50 personally is a little to much when you can get on golf now deals for 12 pounds for 9/18 holes.
Should be discount if you bring your own clubs and balls maybe £5 each
Beautiful scenery
Get the best of Burnley on this attractive (and challenging) pitch and putt course. Beautifully landscaped and surrounded by woodland, this is an enjoyable and relaxing way to spend an afternoon.
Fun Afternoon !
Love playing Pitch and Putt at Townley Hall it’s a great course for a few hours of fun . My only concern was the grass was a bit long and lots of dried clumps all over the course . Still enjoyed it and would recommend
The course was straightforward to follow.
An excellent course, well maintained, easy to follow and fantastic staff who are so welcoming and helpful.
Townley Golf Club Pitch & Putt 5 Star
We played as a group and it was our first time. We all loved it and its fantastic value for money. Highly recommended
Grass was too long so felt like we spent most of our time finding the balls
Chipping practice
Ok for learning the grandkids, whilst ok for practicing pitching wedge shots and little chip and run shots
Poor
I have played this many times with family over 30yrs and went today after lockdown. The course was littered with ripped up turfs, branches, leaves and divots. Someone could have at least tidyied it up in lockdown. It looks like its been left since last year. If id have paid £2 fair enough but not £6 robbed
Pitch & Putt during lockdown
It was great to have an evening with my son at Towneley.
We booked on line and didn't speak to anyone.
When we arrived, we were the only people on the course and the earlier rain had gone.
While it was a little wet underfoot, the conditions were excellent and I really enjoyed our game.
Hope it opens up in the week, so we can sneak in a game or two while we still have the light.
Thank you.
