Don’t bother
This course is in pretty bade shape at the moment. A couple of weeks down the line and it’ll be virtually unplayable. The whole course is tatty and the fairways are already muddy and not far off letting balls plug. There is loads of random verti-cutting on multiple fairways, not really clear what the plan is. There were at least 5 greens that have been verti-cut leaving unsightly scaring and deeming them almost unplayable - they’ll never recover until the spring. We paid £35 for a round and nothing was mentioned to us on checking in and we both felt thoroughly ripped off! The only good thing was the pace of play was respectable but I would genuinely steer clear of this course until at least mid-spring or you’ll be bitterly disappointed!
Stunning course and condition
Everything superb. Great course layout, and in superb condition. All staff very friendly including buggy drinks service at 7pm! Will definitely return.
Trentham park
Greeted by friendly and helpful staff in the pro shop the fairways were as good as some places greens and the greens were excellent apart from a couple on back nine that had been slitted
Excellent value for money I would play there again
Interesting layout in decent condition
Course in good condition but built on clay so I suspect it gets soggy during periods of rain and very bouncy in a drought.
Clubhouse has been renovated very nicely indeed and the staff that we met were very welcoming and friendly.
It was decent value for money.
A bit rough
Played trentham park a few times now and this was about the worst time I’ve played, I really don’t know what’s happened to the greens here but they were nearly as bad as greenway hall! The course itself isn’t bad apart from the 3rd which is a joke hole anyway. Probs won’t be returning here for a while.
Great first 12
We loved the course but the front 12 were all that were open. We weren’t made aware of this at time of booking or arrival at the club
Trentham park
Course in great condition even with bad weather over the last few weeks couple of winter tees 2 greens out of play but other than that fairways are in great condition and the other 16 greens are still like summer greens
Great day of golf ⛳
Great value
Had a great day, course was in fantastic condition considering the recent weather, there were a couple of winter greens where maintenance work was being done but that’s only to be expected at this time of year
Course condition was horrific!
Well what a let down this round of golf was! For a golf club that charges over £1000 for a membership to allow their own members to play the course like that is unfair but to allow visitors to turn up and pay full price for the round is disgusting! Zero communication from the golf club on the state of the course no pre warning, no offer to come back a different day nothing! How the bad the course was I find the lack of communication or warning as dishonest and disheartening, the course shouldn’t be open at the minute the fairways are a complete joke. If they weren’t burnt out or just completely dead ground they had what can only be described as an Olympic running track down them with lanes 1-8, the greens were just as horrific as the fairways bald patches, no true roll to them just dead nothing too them at all the whole round was just shambolic just not playable should not be open at the minute!
A real let down for the price of the round
Hard to get across just how poor of a condition the course was in. The course was in dire need of some watering, the fairways were shocking with so much bare ground and there was absolutely no need to putt on the practice green before our round, as it bared no resemblance to the greens during the round which were very disappointing and slow.
If the course was in the process of getting “readied” for winter (as mentioned in reviews) then I can’t understand why the cost of the round was still so high and why staff in the pro shop couldn’t of forewarned us of the conditions.
Overall, a real let down, especially so, due to the price - to pay £27.99 with the condition the course was in simply wasn’t value for money.
What a let down
What a let down! Played this course with a view to becoming a member, could only stomach 7 holes, tees poor, with divots left lying around and not replaced or seeded, fairways were all gouged, play at Onneley recently whose rough was in better condition than these fairways, greens not true, then there is the 3rd hole, blind par 4 played over a huge hill with a bell that doesn't work, all that is missing from this is a windmill or a clowns face to putt through.
They charge best part of a grand for membership, wouldn't give them £10. Lots of good courses around, this isn't one of them
