Variety of holes great lay out
Tee boxes and greens were spot on for this time of year. Great layout with lots of challenging holes. Will definitely return
Brilliant course
Fantastic course, tight in places but some holes where you can open the driver up also.
Greens were fantastic!!
Buggie is a must! It gets hilly.
Bar and restaurant fantastic.
Only thing I would say is the club needs more buggies on offer.
Lovely.
First time here. A rainy day but didn’t affect the course.
Hole layout is lovely, challenging to all levels. Greens were stunning and had a great roll and pace.
2 gents in the shop were friendly and helpful.
Will be back
Hidden gem
Recommend this course to anyone. 1st time playing and look forward to going back. Greens excellent and challenging
What a wonderful experience!
I read reviews about the views around the course but it’s impossible to exaggerate what a great experience it is, just as a “tourist”.
As a golf course, a hidden gem. Not too long, full of variety, well manicured with the best greens we’ve played this year.
I can’t wait to play here again.
Challenging round
Always enjoy Turton as the wind changes the playing conditions. Good course conditions with amazing views what more could you want

All round great course
First time playing Turton and I will definitely be going back. The course was in excellent condition, particularly the greens - easily the best I’ve played on so far this year. Some really interesting holes and views a-plenty. Great value for money too.
Enjoyable round
Tried the course for first time. Enjoyed it very much. Varied holes, a little walking between greens and tees but lovely on a nice day. Fine pint afterwards!
This course will take some beating
Played the course in beautiful sunshine giving the best of views all around. An undulating course with quite a bit of walking between tees and many trees placed strategically for my ball. The greens were impeccable, I could do with the greens man to look after my lawn. Pleasant welcome and good facilities. Nothing more to be said. Thank you Turton Golf Club.
Excellent course in a picturesque setting. Has a good selection of holes and the condition of the course was good. An old school feel to the clubhouse and pro shop which is nice to find. I would go back and play and would be more than happy if this was my local course.
A Hidden Gem
Played Turin for the first time today. I work away a lot and try and make time to find and play unusual or out of the way courses. Turpin certainly fits the bill,: the clubhouse, although only a couple of so miles outside Bolton is at the end of a farm track and the course runs up to the moors. It’s a pretty up and down course, fairways slope this and that and back again but everything was in good shape.
Playing as a single I expect to be held up but the two ball I caught up with were so friendly and invited me to join them for the last few holes. The pro too, is a gem, I’d only brought a half set with me and I found myself with no putter, asked him if he had one I could rent. Scratched his head, went into the back of his shop and came out with an old club. ‘Might you play here again?’ he asked, ‘if so just put in in your bag for next time’. A true gent.
Anyway, it’s quite a tough course, lots of blind holes (with unusually accurate aiming pokes) and some quick greens. I was very happy with my afternoon in the sun, I even played to my handicap!
great course

but i am getting on a bit
challenging
Fantastic golf course
A true mixture of parkland and moorland golf. Spectacular scenery over Bolton, Manchester and beyond.
Right from the first hole, you are challenged to meet this courses many stunning holes. Make sure you bring your A game, because throughout you're going to be tested using the full range of your clubs.
Each hole is totally different to the next, which has you wondering and marvelling at the views, the course condition, which was superb, and the you'll need to play to post a decent score.
It was my first time playing the course and the professional, the staff and other members couldn't have been more welcoming. A true gem and one myself and my playing partner will be back to, again and again.
Thank you to all who have, and did work hard to provide us with a brilliant days golf, plus a long cold beer in the 19th.
