Fantastic condition.

After the 24 hour deluges we experienced the day before the course was in fantastic condition. Not many wet areas and the greens were in excellent condition.

Wonderful day

What a great day I enjoyed my round very much from the greeting at the pro shop and the demanding course and friendly people

The course is a true test of golf its quirky in places and you will need to use your brain to play it well it's hilly so can be physically demanding but they do have buggies I will definitely be back and I will be telling my friends thank you for a great day

The gift that keeps giving

Stunning views from almost every hole! Considering time of year, the course is in very good condition. Lots of doglegs and hills, so got to think about it. Par 3's are elevated so really fun to play.

Will definitely be going back in the summer.

Turton Golf Club Review

Friendly approachable staff, great well kept course with a good pace of play. Groundskeeper should be congratulated on how well the greens and fairways are kept considering it’s the 3rd week of January. Will definitely re-visit, slightly disappointed that we were told we couldn’t order anything yo eat as we were not members.

Very enjoyable round.

Really enjoyed our time at Turton GC, course in great all round condition especially given it's coming to the end of the season with fantastic views, could not fault it in anyway.

Very friendly members and staff from the pro to the green keepers and bar staff.

Highly recommend Turton GC.

4 ball, early T. Met v friendly and helpful club members and also a staff member (cleaner I think) who were all great.

Course in superb condition and offered great views and a fair golfing challenge with good variety. Spoke to members and the pro after our game - all great!

Unfortunately the young (she) bar person in the upstairs ‘members and visitors’ bar clearly didn’t want to be there…. the food from the very basic menu was the worst I’ve had at any golf club….. literally defrosted and air fried at the bar….. but it was the ‘attitude and service’ that was the real disappointment.

Having relocated to the ground floor restaurant, bar and beer gardener everything was back on form. A superb member of staff, fabulous facilities and appetising food coming out of the kitchen - pity we’d already eaten upstairs.

We’ll definitely go again and I’d happily recommend the club…… but we’ll get out post round refreshments downstairs next time.

Father’s Day Round

I booked this for Father’s Day at the cost of £50 per person and I don’t believe it was worth that value. The course looked stunning however greens were slow and difficult to read.

The course comes with spectacular views as you reach the higher holes if you have difficulty walking I would highly recommend a buggy as there’s significant walking between several holes and the elevation changes significantly.

Overall average experience for the cost of the round I feel there’s better golf at better courses for less.

Good course greens a bit wooly

Really enjoyed the course staff were super friendly enjoyed a sausage and egg barn before the round and a nice pint of Guinness after. The course is really interesting with lots of dog legs and up and down holes. The views are spectacular also. The greens were very slow I’m told they had over night rain so they couldn’t be cut the day we played.

I paid £40 for a round which in my opinion with the greens being long was too much money at £30 would have no complaints. All I’m all I would recommend the course i walked and carried but it is tough on the legs

Fantastic course!

Not even on a day were it rained, heavily for the majority of the round. Could it dampen how enjoyable playing Turton was. The course and especially greens were in fantastic condition.

Some challenging holes for all handicappers. With lovely views throughout.

Yes it’s also a challenge on the legs and would highly recommend a trolly or even a buggy if available. It doesn’t get any easier after the first hole!

No half way house so definitely take plenty of snacks and drinks to keep you going. You’ll need the extra energy.

All and all a lovely course and will definitely be back.

Wow!!

I had heard that Turton GC was a lovely course but the recommendations didn't do it justice. Stunningly beautiful course and some unbelievable holes set out across the course and it's maintained beautifully. From arriving at the pro shop, to being welcomed by a lovely group of ladies whom allowed to me to jump in front, all the members were lovely and very welcoming and most definitely will be back to play this course. Trollies or buggies are advisable and a good test for your legs!
