Walmersley Golf Club

Nice course with quite a few dog legs and blind tee shots which can make it tricky for the first time visitor. Lovely views of the surrounding area which made for a nice day out in the sunshine. Greens a bit slow when I visited and the bunkers a bit short of sand but overall a nice course.

Really enjoyed the round at this very good course , some really interesting holes and the members we bumped into were very friendly, the par 3 on the back nine near the big windmill is worth the trip alone , highly recommend.

18 hole course. Greens were fast on some holes and slow on others. Little bit of walking between some holes but overall a nice course would defo be back to play again

Really good challenge, greens were excellent and course overall was in very good Nick. Hilly in places, so be prepared for it. Tried to hire a buggy but they actually only have 2 available, so you’d be lucky to get one. Staff in shop were very friendly and also gave advice on the course layout.

Course was in great condition and new features added since I last played there. Greens were true and a good pace.

Real hidden Gem with some great holes. Highly recommended

Me and my friends had a great round at Walmersley. Great to ease into the game with a par 3 followed by a challenging, undulating 2. Even though the ground was wet the turf held up well and it was nice to be greeted in such a friendly clubhouse following our round. The Lady captain was especially welcoming and friendly, shall be returning come summer.

5 holes closed, pro told us we had over paid because we had booked through this website and there is nothing he can do to resolve. told us to ring next time and book through them rather than this site

Reknowned as a course that stays open when others close and unless it's under snow the playability is good.

Well that course should have been shut, terrible under foot diseased greens, and on arrival to be told 2 holes were closed was unacceptable, kitchen out of food, horrible coffee and woefully outdated facilities. Was expecting lovejoy or the dingles to be members.

Won't be going back complete waste of time.

Excellent course, great variety of holes with some breathtaking views. Superb condition and very challenging. Lots of fairways have sloping lies so makes second shots hard though. One of my favourite courses and good value for money.

Played Walmersley Golf Course yesterday. Really nice setup with practice facilities that include a couple of nets and a putting green. Course itself had a really interesting layout, some testing holes and nice water features. The course was really well maintained, both in terms of the holes themselves but also the signage and walkways etc. Despite lots of rain days prior and the morning of our round, the course played well with only one of the holes being a bit boggy. Our welcome to the club was great too, from the Pro in the shop prior to teeing off, to a member approaching us at the end of our round to see how we enjoyed the course. Will certainly be returning and great value.

Great course, good selection of holes with something different on most holes. The course is in great condition. Doesn’t get too busy so no hold ups, some picturesque holes and great views of surrounding countryside. Good value, enjoyable round of golf.

No two holes are the same! Amazing views! Fantastic greens and course layout

Played on a fri afternoon. After the drive there through country lanes and farmers tracks the first 9 was ok apart from the greens being spiked ( massive holes and uneven)and unplayable. A few slow players in front we decided to play the front 9 again to get round in our usual 3 1/2 hrs instead of the 5 we thought it might take. Price was £30 which I thought was £15 too much. Would not play again in a rush. Better courses in this area for much less.

Known locally as the hill to Bury due to its sloping fairways up an down and left to right. A challenging course although not too long. Course was in very good condition considering the amount of hot weather we have had recently.

Would definitely recommend it as a "to try a different course".
