Rossendale Golf Club

The course was good but not spectacular with some greens good and others poor. Some very nice holes especially signature hole. Course layout very hard to follow though and sharing tee beds with other holes wasn’t great. Could imagine on a busy day the course could get very back logged very fast. Bar staff was lovely and friendly along with the pro in the shop whom kindly give us some tips on the course.

Great game today and course in good condition, staff could not have been more friendly and great value for money

I played with my novice partner on Sunday, we were made to feel welcome by members and the pro, who said we could go off earlier than our tee time if we wanted to. A nice practice green and nets are available.

The weather was cold and misty but the course was reasonably dry and on summer greens and mats for the tees.

2 holes are having some work done so we didn’t play those but the pro said we could play others twice if we wanted to.

Some short holes and a couple of longer ones, not overly hilly but there are a couple of creepers that make it hard work. Nice views ( would be nicer in summer)

I shot a respectable 80 so not bad, we will be back again soon

Didn’t realise only 11 holes were open, slightly disappointed but it said so on golf now, but I never saw it so my bad. Pace was great not many people on the course, shop staff were fantastic and even said we could play the 11 twice if we wanted. Course was in good nick considering the weather we’ve had. Would definitely go again great place.

Well maintained and a generally nice course. The club pro was a nice guy. The course is mostly flat with slight hills on 4/5 holes but they are long holes so probably more suited to the longer hitters. Nice views all around and decent practice facilities. Definitely would recommend

Interesting course lovely surroundings with some challenging holes. Sadly the course was very wet with the wet summer and autumn that we have all endured.

Despite this we enjoyed the challenge.

I have played this course a few times and it was excellent but it suffers in the wet weather.

Been here loads and it’s usually great but should have been told it was maintenance week before we paid as the greens were basically a sand pit

The course was exceptionally presented, manicured and maintained. The greens in particular were worthy of much merit, a very good even growth and rolled smoothly and pretty briskly too - the greens had been cut and ironed for a members’ comp and some of the pin positions on the crests of tiers were nothing short of wicked. Overall the course is a reasonably gentle walk (somewhat surprising given the topography of the hills and valleys surrounding the course) and firm under foot; despite torrential rain the night prior. Some of the shared tee boxes and diagonal tee shots to the correct fairway were a little awkward, but nothing to complain about. The pace of play was completely satisfactory, traffic both sides but a decent time to complete the round. The fairways are generous and the rough was at a sensible height, which assisted in keeping play moving… some wild shots could still be seen from the tee box and so not many balls lost as a result of the sensible course maintenance strategy being employed. Overall this course far exceeded my expectations, both myself and playing partner would jump at the chance to return, and if you’re wondering whether to play I would strongly recommend it; you won’t be disappointed. The price is fair and worth every penny.

Was very busy and 4 balls were playing exceptionally slow and didn’t let a single through. Had to cut short as way too slow

Very very good greens, some challenging pins , lovely place well worth a visit, 2 or 3 hilly holes but no way as bad as some courses …loved it
