Great course and value
Had a great round.. course was in excellent condition… nice easy round, not busy… had a nice Guiness to end!
Lovely afternoon
Pace of play - Good,
Greens - Good nick as usual.
Only downside - Geese Poo everywhere.
Great variation from hole to hole.
The course layout is very testing. There is water on several holes which invite you to go for risk/reward shots. The fairways are very undulating so some blind tee shots necessary. Two tier greens also add to course management. I played during a very hot spell so the fairways were very hard and dry but still in good condition. Dispite the dry spell the greens were in top top condition. This is a course well worth a visit to.
Jl
we played on Wednesday and it cost us £35 each by going through Golfpass we could have booked online for £30 each and had a free coffee and bacon roll so it would’ve been cheaper without going for a GolfNow discount!
Brentwood GC
Challenging course with undulating terrain & greens. Great test for the average golfer.
Pay and play
Have played this course numerous times over the years.
Nice to see the bunkers with their new shapes but the sand in them is terrible.
Pressure may well be gur if the sand is soo thin and hard.
Some bunkers had sand which was playable but most wasn’t
Too busy!!
This course was too busy and too full of people who didn’t have a clue what they were doing. Folk wandering about all over the wrong fairways - most of them in buggies shooting here, there & everywhere. Where was the course marshal?? We waited on every shot and it was demoralising. Won’t be rushing back.
Decent
Course was generally really good, greens lovely & true. Will be back again soon.
Much improved golf course
We did enjoy to play at Brentwood GC and want to go back again!
Good course with good greens
The course was good and somewhat challenging, only problem was slow players, had 3 different tee times stood on the 10th hole waiting to play.
Very friendly pro in the pro shop. Good parking and car park security.
Course: Plenty of water, mid fairway trees and ditches to be challenging. Greens were in quite bad condition (heavily ridged, so maybe they'd been recently treated)). The weather was pretty perfect and plenty of wildlife (geese, pheasants, deer, rabbits), which helped overall enjoyment. Only real negative was the etiquette of other players - walking across other fairways, shouting at each other across the course (even when right next to tees) and failing to ring bells after clearing an area. We have played there before and don't remember that being a negative experience then so would probably give it another chance,
Great test of skills.
Nice course for this area that has got it all to give your game a test. Competitive and available, I will be back soon I hope.
Lovely set up, not the best condition
Have always enjoyed playing at Brentwood, however this was less favourable. I appreciate there hasn’t been much rain but fairways were baked solid, greens had what appeared to be a fair amount of disease and were very bobbly and there were more stones than sand in some bunkers.
We paid £20pp which is very reasonable and we expected a slow round, but as a two ball we kept up with a two ball buggy and by the time we got to the 15th par 3, we were waiting for them to tee off as the group of 4 in front were waiting for every green to clear before teeing off. This was then factored in by a member who decided to push in on the 6th hole in a buggy (without asking us) and then decided after playing the 6th and teeing off on the 7th to then overtake the buggy in front to go onto the 8th, thus causing more congestion.
