Very enjoyable afternoon in the sun ☀️ I
I enjoyed my game here at Brentwood. The fairways were quiet firm so the ball went farther but made chipping slightly harder with my wedges. Always made welcome and offers excellent value for money. The hilly terrain certainly keeps you fit! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course whatever your handicap.
Tees off mats
All tees were off mats and some mats needed improvement
Course was quite dry for this time of year
Also greens had been spiked so could have given more of a discount
Very good
Course was in good condition for the time of year and that the greens had been worked worked on, most bunkers had plenty of sand
Good value but conditions were poor
Exceptionally wet and muddy but excellent value at around £9 per head. You could see that in better conditions that this was a nice track and probably well maintained year round.
Pace of play was awful. With four funereal four balls holding up the entire course. So much so we didn’t have time to finish the round.
Locker rooms clean, modern and tidy. Bar facilities likewise.
Lots of warnings regarding theft from vehicles but I suppose it is Essex!
Wet & cold
Brentwood Golf course is normally great and is a challenging course but this weekend it was far too muddy and cold.
Overall
Staff was blunt and wasn’t very helpful and the course conditions was terrible for the price , would rather play a cheaper course as the conditions would be the same
Good value for money
Great course with a number of holes you have to think tactically about. Great breakfast too. Staff friendly & helpful.
Great Course
The Autumn leaves have been falling heavily but the green keepers were doing a great job clearing them. Every bunker was in great nick which is a rarity for me at the courses I usually play at. Some really interesting holes to play and I will definitely be back soon. Great job!
The only let down was the greens were a bit slow
Very good value for £18.99 if we had booked the earlier slot 8 minutes earlier at £38.99 i would have felt ripped off
Could do better.
The course itself is good but lets its self down by some of its members. The day I played the course was busy but play was unnecessary slow. I was walking and following a 2 ball, and two 4 balls, all in buggy’s but weren’t able to keep up with play. Had to wait 5-6 mins on every tee before being able play. The general code of dress displayed on the course was very shabby, most with shirts hanging out and some looked like they were playing in work clothes which was reflected in the amount of white vans in the car park. There also appeared a general lack of warmth displayed by the few members of staff I interacted with. The whole place could do with a shake up and a insurgence of higher standards IMO.

Excellent greens, some tee areas were a little worn though

Shame to see decline of this course
I hadn’t played Brentwood for a couple of years until I played on Sunday , complete waste of time . Fairways were terrible and tees were shocking. Wasn’t expecting a lot for £20 but was so disappointed with how bad it had become. Shame as it is such I nice track

Fab course, in great condition… staff were great and very helpful.. picked a great day to play and course was pretty empty… only downside the bar shut 6ish!!!
Nice Course
Nice course in lovely setting. Not long and placement of some short par 4's tee shots with irons is key
