Wergs Golf Club

Was expecting 2 holes to be closed according to website but pleasantly surprised to find fully open. Course had forward tees. Weather was cold but sunny clear skies. Course wasn’t at all muddy on or off the fairways. Greens damp but still good speed and true. Any missed putts were poor reads. Not too many players out there. Great layout and many interesting holes. Only negative was clubhouse was chilly. They had wood burner on when we arrived but was out after we finished. Highly recommended as well-drained at this time of year. Friendly members and staff. 👍

Never played this course before but what a nice course greens very good even though we had rain for 3 days before we played . Quite a bit of water round the course where you can go for it or lay up . Rough wa a little bit long but with the weather we had that’s what you expect. Will definitely play here again. Ps managed to pick up 2 bags of mushrooms

First time playing Wergs but won’t be the last. For Saturday early afternoon not bad value at all and not very busy. Course was in very good condition with fast but true greens. Certainly on front 9 most greens reachable in regulation. Very minor criticism: the grass cuttings were left in the rough rather than being collected. Highly recommended.

This was the first time I have played this course. Looking at the pictures and on Google maps it looked quite boring and safe. Don't be fooled, the course is very well designed, traps placed so as to make you think about club selection and course management.

Staff are very friendly, course was in good condition and the greens are very fast.

Pace of play is slow, we were waiting on most tees but it was a lovely day and a beautiful course so not too much of a problem.

Great course doesn’t punish you to much with wayward play but very challenging still.Definitely recommend and will be back again

Considering the smout of rain we had plus the downpour on the front nine the course was in very good condition.

My wife and I played the course having found it close to our house. Checking in staff are friendly and helpful as are the bar staff and those around the club.

The course is in good condition despite a lot of rain leading up to us playing. The layout of the course is simple and easy to follow with some holes being simple up and down holes. By this I mean you can see the flag and as long as you are straight, you head in the right direction.

Their are some holes which are harder as they are blind over a rise or a dog leg, but in the main, its up and own golf.

Great to visit, great to play, but you will find harder

Lovely course, well maintained. The only down side was slow play, several times on the back nine there were 5 parties playing 2 holes!

As title says, it is a great course, set out very nice, some very tricky holes with plenty of water, not very hilly, greens were great, pace of play seemed to slow up back 9, friendly staff, nice beer, easy to get to. I will return.

The member of staff on duty on the day we played could not have been more accommodating, we arrived early but he was able to slot us in without affecting anyone else, the course is very well kept with little or no rough, but strategically placed hazards make the course challenging, would definitely recommend this course, from the staff to the facilities and the course.

For any avide golf wergs is a must, plenty of challenges for the low handy cap. Pleasant scenery, great fairways wonderful greens

Google Earth shows a straightforward course with little interest - far from it…! Every hole is a challenge offering variety of hazards but nothing untoward if you can hit straight. Beautiful greens, some really good bunkers and ponds guarding greens. Staff (greenkeepers, shop and bar staff) very friendly and helpful, well maintained course and facilities. My first time, I’ll definitely return.

Absolutely wonderful course. From T to fairway onto the green. It was very enjoyable to play a well kept course.

It's a must visit course for those who have not ever played Wergs golf course before. If you haven't played the course in a long time, you must go back and played 8

Played this course with 3 others after booking it as a 'hot deal'. Getting a green fee on a Saturday @ 1030 for £18 raised my eyebrows, almost too good to be true.

The four of us played the course & were extremely impressed, tee boxes were ok, greens were superb for the time of year and fairways well looked after. A lovely course and a fair challenge. We were made most welcome on arrival, lots of members saying 'hello' etc. Clubhouse was sound and fairly priced.

I'd definitely recommend this course, at £18 on a Saturday @ 10.30 was an absolute steal.
