Lovely course, well maintained
Lovely course for a casual game. Not too challenging that it annoys you, but challenging enough to keep it interesting.
Greens were in very good condition.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
We will be returning to this course regularly now.
Great course
Some cross course play, but overall a great course.
Friendly golf course
This was my first ever game and was perfect place, very forgiving course nice and open, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend it 👍🏼
Nice easy going course
Nice course for what you are paying. Would recommend
Weston Turville- friendly club and nice flat straightforward course
Nice and friendly staff Great condition Not hilly Peaceful not to difficult for high handicappers
Weston Turville- 2 Ball on a Sunday
Fair price, many people will tee off during the hot deal period. Very slow pace of play and many people playing are utter rubbish or beginners so be prepared during peak hot deal times to wait at the tee box. Greens are slow but the course is ideal for beginners or people who want a fair round
Great value
Considering the weather conditions leading up to the day, the course was in good nick. All greens were available, had recently been spiked which caused a few deviated putts but it made sure there wasn’t any lying water. Off temp tees which have seen better days but can see potential new replacements being put in. Overall really great value and a good round.
Nice course in the summer but terrible in the winter.
Every hole used a winter tee which was extremely weathered and absolutely no give.
The course is usually very nice but the fairways and greens were in quite bad shape.
Good course for beginners
This is teh second time I have played WT course. I find it quite challenging, there are a lot of trees, and some narrow fairways, together with several water 'features'. This time of year there are a lot of leaves which can mean finding balls takes a few minutes ! Greens were in good condition.
We started about 12:00, and it was still quite busy, finished just after 16:00 and there were very few people in the clubhouse at that time.
Good course considering the dry summer the fairways have plenty of grass. Greens have suffered but mostly very good true running. Good day.
An Interesting Layout and a Shameless Plug
Would definitely recommend playing here. I’ve played during the week and at the weekend and the course never seems to be jam-packed. Don’t use the nets though. I lost my first ball of the day there when I hit a shot straight through a hole in it. Luckily, there was only a field behind it.
The 5th and 6th, 8th/9th and 15th/16th intersect each other which I personally like. I like how a hazard on one hole is just a pretty feature on the other.
The staff were really friendly. I was told on arrival that I’d been paired up with a two-ball as I didn’t fill the tee time but as it was quiet I could go just ahead of them if I so wished. I did this, but I had to let them play through on the 14th because…
…I filmed my entire round. If anyone’s curious about the course layout, keep an eye on “The Golfing Gamer” YouTube channel in the coming weeks. The one who’s played courses in the Home Counties. Fun fact: My profile picture was taken on the 2nd green of the course on a previous visit. I’ll put a taster below…
How not to keep a course
I have played this course several times in the past but never again the tees are a disgusting mix of lumps and bare soil with odd clumps of grass. The fairways are reasonably considering the weather we have had. The greens are patches of bare earth and grass with large cracks everywhere putting is impossible as the ball deviates with every change of surface. Some of the bunkers have a serious lack of sand in them. Overall this could be a good course but sadly it has been let go and you can only blame the green keeper and the ruling committee. I will not play here again other courses are looked after much better.
In a poor way
A course that obviously lacks any investment, the general condition of the course was awful. Yes it’s a drought and the fairways are in a poor state as they obviously cannot water them but the tees and the greens particularly were in a terrible state. The greens were very poorly maintained. Who ever has ownership of this course they are apparently putting no money into it at all. Shame as it’s expensive for the condition. Perhaps it’ll improve one day if investment is forthcoming, if not I fear it will founder. The staff are very friendly and I cannot fault them. Perhaps with rain the course will improve but the greens need a lot of tlc. The course in better condition would suit a high handicapper looking to get some practice in.
