Sub standard
Played the course on a hot deal at £13 so really can’t argue with the price and this value for money. There is zero chance I’d play this course at their standard rate (£20+). The greens were fine enough, however the fairways were pretty poor and the bunkers looked more taliban than tally ho.
Playing the course leaves you confused as there’s barely any signage between tees, plus the yardage markers are fairly non-existent. The course itself is flat and narrow and suffers from repetition, but good for iron practice.
A real shame as the clubhouse is really well looked after, nice changing facilities and the staff are very friendly.
Value for money
Nice little course, up keep could be improved but for value for money not going to find any better in the Bucks area. Bonus good bar area.
JEEP
Course was extremely busy and pace of play very slow. Course is very flat so good for seniors golf. Amenities limited.
A nice flat course, well kept and very tidy. The course could do with some 150 yard marker posts and more signage as to where the next tees were situated sometimes very difficult to tell where the next tee was. The only downside to the course was some tees and greens were very close together, also there were a fair number of crossover points on the course. On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our day out.
An increase in price, a serious drop off in conditions
I have played here a few times now. This was easily the worst I have seen the course.
The layout has always been pretty poor- no real elevation changes, lots of parallel fairways and boring repetitive 350-ish yard par 4s. A good test of accuracy and patience, but not much better than Mickey Mouse.
But the redeeming feature has been the conditioning of the course- the greens have been good and the tee boxes and green complexes well maintained. This time, it looked like an watchdog special where the builders start work then disappear into thin air a week later, leaving bare earth, holes and craters around the course.
This might have been understandable if advanced warning had been given, but in fact, the price of a tee time has increased by over 50%!! The greens were very slow and bumpy, and there were a lot of unmarked construction sites.
Truly dreadful.
Greens were lumpy and grass too long. Bunkers were rubbish. Not looked after. No sand in them and many designated GUR. With some care it could be a nice little course.
Could be better
clubhouse was shut and the proshops coffee machine was broken.
Very poor greens, slow with different grasses growing at different lengths made putting a lottery.
Fairways were OK.
Confusing layout with no directional signage between holes meant we were often wandering trying to find the next tee.
At least 6 areas of gur.
I guess for under £25 you cannot expect too much!
Course generally in good condition however the greens could be cut a bit tighter but coming off the back of a poor winter and lock down still acceptable, would recommend this course as an experienced amateur.
Played par 3 which was in a very poor state of repair I recommended that the club management concentrate on improving before allowing paying guests to use this par 3 course I recommend that you find a different par 3 course until this one is vastly improved.
Nice course
Fairly flat and short course with good greens. Pleasant scenery and excellent value. An opportunity to score well.
Well Below Par
3 holes (20%) closed with no prior notification. Winter tees on all holes with no warning. Winter greens everywhere with no prior warning. Very poor signages between holes. No partial refund offered. Shall not return.
