Take cover !
First time playing at Weston turville, decided to try it after reading lots of positive reviews.
We did enjoy the course, the greens were good, lots of quirky holes and a good bit of variety. The main negatives are that's the course is far too cramped, lots of waiting for other groups to tee off back across greens and fairways from the previous holes, it's just bizzare, it's like they have squeezed in an 18 hole course when there was only room for 12 holes.
The signage between holes is also pretty much non existent, we had to keep a close eye on the group in front otherwise we wouldnt have had a clue where to go on a few holes.
Our main problem was that we were almost hit on several holes from errant golf shots, we did see one player get hit by a golf ball which was hit from the group in front of us, luckily he was unhurt.
Maybe it was just busy for a Saturday afternoon but it seems like this is the norm, it felt like trying to play golf on a driving range !
I think if we ever came back we would wear hard hats rather than golf hats...
Lockdown Golf
Course was in great conditions given the current pandemic going on. Thoroughly enjoyable round and even though it has some very short holes the pace of the round was still excellent with minimal waiting around.
Greens
I have played this course many times over the years, and fair to say they have always had a few problems with the greens. And the same thing again. still for the price I've paid I'm not complaining (really) a good day out.
Better than other courses!
Honestly don’t understand why people disliked this course- it’s a nice course - decently maintained.
I do recognise there’s a couple holes that overlap and it’s a LITTLE dangerous - but apart from that - I found the course quite pleasant. Members and staff were friendly too.
Challenging
Playing this course for the first time, I will definitely be back. Greeted by friendly staff, making you feel very welcome.
The course was in good condition for a November day, fairways were superb, greens read true, superb par 3’s, tight off the tee, on certain holes, make you really respect this course
Well done Weston turville, see you again soon
Enjoyable tight course
Very good condition considering all the rain we have had.the fairways were very good greens true but extremely wet.great to get your distance throw it in and see it stop. More signage for t positions would be useful for first time players.
Great wee course
Great wee public course, great greens and tidy fairways. Well kept and great value for money
Worth while trying
While not the most difficult of courses it is still a test. Well maintained and a pleasure to play . Only complaint too many crossover fairways and lack of signs giving direction to next tee
Golf
This is a short but tight course. Greens are elevated which can be tricky and the pace is a lovely standard. Some tees could use some TLC and with that some bunkers too ( but I put that down to golfers raking them badly, ) overall a nice test for any handicap golfer from scratch to 28. There are water hazards, and bunkers a plenty plus some lovely par 3,s
Pleasantly surprised..!
Our first time at the course, a warm welcome from the Lady in the pro-shop who gave us a course guide and talked us through each hole.
The course is fairly open, flat parkland style but the fairways and greens were in excellent condition.
We paid £15 for a Saturday afternoon round which is good value.
We will definitely be back..!
A hidden gem
Weston turville is fantastic little well looked after golf course, greens are fast and soft, the height of cut on everything is superb and a definite step in height if you go into semi or long rough, tees are level and holes are a challenge if only fairly short.
The trees have matured and made the course tighter than I remember ,
Only complaint is the bunkers need a little TLC but don't go in them I guess lol.
A solid 9/10
Nice and flat course.
Greens were decent as well as fairways.Tee boxes were poor in places but playable.Lovely new clubhouse but not used by myself.Short course but need to be straight as plenty hazards to catch you out.
Happy customer
Slow round but was expected with it being Easter Saturday.Course was in good condition overall.Tee boxes need a bit work as some were on slopes.Greens were good but little bumpy. Its not a long course and not hilly so it's easy on legs.
New clubhouse is a great addition with its decking area and sliding doors.
Recently refurbished clubhouse
Friendly course recently improved facilities. Busy on the day I played so round was a bit slow. But gave me time to enjoy the walk!
Great course
Having played all other courses in the local area have to say this is by far the nices course in Aylesbury, if you are like us and don't play that offen this course offers you room for mistakes at the same time as prosenting a challenging layout.
We will definitely be playing again.
Value for money
Its been a few years since i last played here, and since the very hot weather all golf courses in the area have suffered. the green keepers have done a remarkable job in keeping the greens as good as possible. but for value for money it was well worth it. the Club house has had extensive work and looks fantastic. As always the staff made you most welcome. I think with a little more work this course will be remarkable.
Course design
Seems this course could have more room to Build, too many holes cross over!!
