Terrible!
- 45 minute delay to the tee time due to over booking.
- Were putting people into 4 balls under COVID restrictions (typically 4 households ended up mixing)
- Took just over 6 hours for a round of golf.
- certainly not worth the £50 per head & £35 per buggy
- Greed took over when opening the course for the first time over COVID restrictions and playability.
Thank you for your 4 star review. Hopefully next time we can get 5!
Shame about the pace
Considering the weather this was a very playable course with no water standing. Just don't understand why it takes a 2-ball 2hrs to play 9 holes and then play the next in less than 90 minutes. Not keeping to the buggy paths might have something to do with it!! But as mentioned the greens were in good condition for this time of year as were the tees. Would play again in the winter but must remeber to bring towel and pitch mark repairer. Far too many left by previous golfers. Only had time to repair my own witha tee peg.
Woldingham GC
We had a very enjoyable round at Woldingham golf club yesterday with my girlfriend. We are both mid-20s handicap.
Play was a little slow to start but then it sped up and we didn’t feel that we were being rushed at any point. The other golfers on the course were very friendly and overall we got a good impression for a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The greens and fairways were in good condition, particular given the recent rain. The tees were a bit damp and in some cases we had to tee off Astroturf tees. Those could’ve done with a little bit of TLC as a couple were quite difficult to get Tee in / at the right height.
Due to winter rules, no trolleys were allowed and we carried. A number of people were in carts. Should be noted that it is quite a hilly course (built into a valley) so people should be prepared for a bit of a slog if carrying. The paths and cart tracks were in better condition than other courses we have played recently so credit to the ground staff.
The coffee shop and bar were closed for obvious reasons but the toilets were open and generally facilities looked to be very good. Look forward to playing here again
Course very wet and soft. Greens great
Hilly, wet but very good green and senic setting.
Had to take buggies as a trolley ban and the tracks were very cut up and muddy.
But good on the team there for keeping it open. Fairways OK. Greens very good indeed. Tee boxes damp.
Lots of holes on slopes (its in the North Downs) so many shots on slopes (which i hate)
I will return (preferably at a cheaper rate)
So good. But now a Covid victim.
Everything really good. Greens and tees in great condiition. Some fairways a bit soft but good to see such lush grass especially on the fringes of the greens. Such a shame the Government is closing this course for at least a month as from tomorrow - so ill-considered.
Fun round
4 ball, not too difficult or long. Greens true and in good condition in winter. Rough is difficult but
Playable. Really fun round. Busy and a bit slow but not in a rush and had a lot of fun.
Nice little course, overpriced at £50
Play off 8, found the course a little easy as it’s quite short and I was able to drive some Par 4’s. Greens were in great condition for the time of year. The course was nicely configured and interesting to play. Each green had its defences. But at £50 it was overpriced, it’s a really good local golf course and I’d expect to pay a little less for that. Pace of play was also slow, took us 4 hours in a 2 ball as we waited on every tee. Locals were friendly. If I’d paid £30 for the round I would easily say I’d go back time and time again but at £50 may seek better value for money.
Decent course in nice location
The course was in good condition for October, although the greens were rather slower than ideally they should be and the bunkers were below average.
Quite open, so not much time needed looking for stray shots, the holes are mostly well separated with interesting features.
Overall, well laid out in a nice setting with good facilities, we'd definitely consider returning there.
Good course
Decent price. Slow (Teed off 1336hrs) . We adopted flexible approach, fourball in front took 4 hrs 20 min.
Still playing well
The trees are changing colour in Haliloo Valley - so it's a delight. Course conditions still good despite recent rain. New sand now in most of the bunkers. Winter rules in operation. Greens still running well.
Good course with considerate golfers happy to allow faster players through.
The rules are 2 households in your back garden not for outdoor sports, do you think outdoor swimming pools are only letting in 2 people? Guess you thought courses would be quiet after being shut for 3 months, then reopening on the hottest day of year so far?
