very good day.
Played this course last year and the wet weather had affected the condition. What a change this year. Its a great layout and in really good condition. The greens were excellent and the fairways now well cut. Nice club house and staff and great value day out.
Avoid at any cost. This course is a mess.
On arrival, the entrance barrier was not working. Then informed that only 15 holes in play.
When we got to the first tee there was a sign
“MATS TO BE USED ON ALL MOWN ARREAS “as no one had given us a mat we had to go back to the pro-shop for a mat.
Tees, Winter Mats or on the fairway just in front of normal tee. 4/10.
Fairways, very wet, had to use a mat for fairway shots. 2/10
Greens, aerated very uneven and bare. 3/10.
All in all, this course should be closed to help it recover for the summer.
A real treat
WOrsley Golf Club is a gem. It is an open, established course that reminds me of a large Manor House deer park. The layout is a little cramped around the later tees and greens but is a beautiful, well kept and interesting challenge. I had a great morning and shot a repectable forty two on the back nine without seeing the course before. My lunch was excellent and reasonably priced. I will be returning very soon.
