Pretty rough for the price
Played this course before and it was in very nice shape overall. When we played this last time the greens were in terrible shape for the price. It is listed on golf now for $30 plus dollars, and the fairways needed mowing and the greens had major bare/rough spots throughout the course. I may be back again, but I will call first and see how conditions are.
Condition
Should be given a heads up on course conditions before paying fees. They have closed two nines and combined one of the remaing. Pace of play fine as not many players.
Course In Transition
The front nine (Bay course) is in rough shape as they transition to a new course configuration and the loss of their driving range. The greens were scalded and the tee boxes were mostly bare. The back nine (Marsh course) was a bit better, but not by much. Hopefully new management will have it back in better shape in a year.
Pitiful greens
Do not play it right now . The greens are unplayable. We played for $29. Terrible
Waste of money
The fairways are in terrible condition, the greens with exception of 2 holes were terrible. So confusing because it is 2 courses in one. Did not enjoy it. For that money I would have definitely went elsewhere
Great Value
Not a bad course, huge distance between holes. You would be crazy to walk it. The greens could use so attention but overall, a pleasant experience. Long drive from Pensacola but I would probably play it if I were in the area.

Bay Course is the Worst
The first 3 holes on the Bay course had less than 25% grass coverage and were so bumpy we didn't even attempt to putt. It was impossible to putt. Getting to holes 8 and 9 took forever as they were completely separated from the first 7 holes. The fairways looked like cow pastures The Marsh course was slightly better ( at least it looked like a golf course) but we had to stop after the first hole on that 9 due to rain.
We got a rain check for half of what we paid but if we EVER go back we'll play the Marsh course twice. They couldn't pay me to play the Bay course again.
Bluewater Bay Greens
I don't know what happened to the greens and the overall condition of the course. The greens have been punched and sanded, but there is little to no grass under the sand, just dirt. See attached picture.
This used to be a wonderful, 36-hole, track, that has shrunken to just 18 holes. You'd think with half the number of holes to care for, the greens keeper could present a pristine, well manicured golf course. This is not the case. It is just short of "cow pasture" designation. I know ownership changed recently... I can only assume the new management team does not know how to care for and run a viable golf course. It's a shame. I won't be spending my money to play there anytime soon. Let's hope some critical feedback will move the new owners to spend some money and make Bluewater Bay a viable golf venue once again.
Nice course, at least fix the greens.
I love the course and overall layout, but for Pete’s sake, put some money into the greens. They are horrible when they could easily be the best in town.
Greens are dead and also several fairways. Enough said.
Avoid
Course is in terrible shape from the greens, fairways and tee boxes. Not sure they own a mower. Staff was good. No beverage cart or food available
Terrible layout, worse conditions
The course is in terrible shape, the tee boxes are almost entirely sand, the greens are diseased and the fairways/playable rough have large dead spots. Even if the course was in better shape the layout is difficult with very narrow sections and strongly discourages using driver off the tee. It is a tough round and offers little in the way of fun. Lots of blind t shots and weeds in the rough made lost balls a far too often occurrence.
