Lost 5 balls
Very nice course and well kept, greens were nice but don’t hit in the rough because you won’t find it lol. Good selection of holes that will test most golfers. First time playing this course for me and it was very enjoyable and would recommend highly.
Cracking course
Outstanding greens and an absolute challenge for any golfer, the course is still in its infancy and the drainage has had some serious issues over the years but I feel the green staff are doing an amazing job of rectifying this and it’s starting to show. I honestly don’t think you will get better greens in Lanarkshire just now.
GREAT
Even knowing the rain has fell the past week you wouldn’t think it had touched the course spot on highly recommended
Definitely worth a visit
Good layout and great greens.
Really playable just now as fairways dried out.
Hard course
The course is very demanding and very long good for the big hitters but thoroughly enjoyed our day I will play the course again now I know where all the hazards are
Beginners View
As a relative newcomer to golf and this being my first time playing the course, I was very impressed with the condition and layout of the course. Also when arriving at the course the staff were very friendly and welcoming. A very enjoyable day.
Good round of golf
My friend and me played a round here and found it a nice course some tricky holes but you don't want it to easy we both enjoyed it and would definitely play it again
Good round
The front 9 played very well however the fairways on the back 9 were really cutting up due to poor drainage
Uninterested
Turned up for t time to be told by not very nice staff the course has been closed and GolfNow should’ve notified you, these courses are not interested in GolfNow bookings but are happy to take the money for times that they can’t fill, bad communication all round here.
Lockdown Escape
Frozen Mid winter is not the best time to play or review this local course. Like very many parkland courses in Scotland it hold too much water in the winter months and is only at its best in Summer. However the course is long and very well laid out quite open and so very playable for all levels of golfer. It’s a bit rough round the edges especially in the wet winter months but those who brave the weather on a cold bright winter day are usually rewarded with unexpected views across Lanarkshire to Glasgow and beyond. The layout and fabulous vista are spoiled slightly but as unsightly electric sub station and associated power lines but this does not impact up the golf or take away from the course layout. Quite a few long relatively open holes which are well designed and laid out. The course could be better manicured and surroundings tidied up a bit but overall this is fantastic value for money and a really good walk with panoramic views but best choose a warm dry day in Spring or Summer as it is very slow draining heavy underfoot in places. All things considered this is a very welcoming , under rated and enjoyable test of golf with a nice modern clubhouse and good parking facilities. It’s never too busy and rarely closed even during bad weather and was ideal for getting some welcome fresh air and exercise during the current lockdown period.
Greens immaculate for time of year. Winter tees ok, fairways very boggy, had to move ball to side which is fine. Overall good value for money and great condition for time of year
Swamp like.
Course itself is great, and I’ll bet it’s amazing in the summer. Greens are excellent, especially for this time of year. Clubhouse looks nice. Fairways are like an actual swamp, and you need a mat to play off them or you hit from semi rough. Never actually played a course so soft underfoot. Will be back in the summer months when conditions improve.
