Sewailo Golf Club
About
Sewailo Golf Club is part of the Casino Del Sol Resort in Tucson, a luxurious resort run by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The course's name, Sewailo, means "flower world" in the Yaqui language. When the idea of creating the golf course was first formed, the tribe enlisted the help of fellow Native American and PGA Tour player Notah Begay III as well as renowned course architect Ty Butler. The team fully utilized the rugged landscape, crafting a championship layout with a range of shot values and a variety of hazards. The bunkering is minimal but strategic, added to complement the natural features rather than overpower them. There are also lakes and meandering streams that come into play. Sewailo Golf Club has five sets of tees with the longest stretching to 7,400 yards.

Lots of bunkers
This is definitely a target course unless you like to hit your ball into bunkers. Sand bunkers everywhere. The course is in great shape except for the bunkers which are really hard packed sand. We were only able to play 9 holes due to lightning. They did give us a rain check for 9 holes. The people in the golf shop and golfnow had a mix up as to tee times. Next time I play there I will call the course to verify tee times.
First Timer
6-21-18 First thing I noticed was there was no handicap parking at the course. There is a drop off but after the game, a long haul back to the car. The greeters were great and quite helpful. Carts have GPS but it always knows where you are and you can get dinged if you wander where you shouldn't. Announced pace of play is close to 15 minutes per hole which was fine for the front nine but a little low for the back nine. Tee times are 10 minutes apart. If you slow down you'll be pushed by the group behind you. Bottled water is supplied throughout the course. Had lunch in the hotel at the buffet. Excellent. Too many bunkers on the course. Water hazards are manageable but expect to lose a couple golf balls. Course is well maintained. Great staff. Green fees were competitive for Tucson in the summer.
Golfex
Overall outstanding golf venue in South Tucson. The price was right using Golfnow, staff from bag drop-off, Pro Shop and starter were very customer friendly. The course was in excellent condition, layout challenging, but not overwhelming to the average golfer. Must play for golfers visiting or new to the area.
Great layout, condition of course
Fantastic course. Can play it as hard as you want, many different tees. Very courteous staff.
Oustanding course!
I have been in Tucson for a few weeks and decided to give this course a try. I was not disappointed. The course is in excellent shape and has a super layout. This course is as good as any course I have played in Tucson. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun golf experience.
Great Shape
Sewailo was in great shape with green fairways and immaculate bent greens, and I played it in late May. Played from the jade (green) tees, and that was a good fit for my 18 handicap at 6341 yards. Hole #5 was pretty challenging, though, a 431-yard par 4 that I’ll probably never reach in 2. All the staff was very friendly and courteous, and I’ll look forward to playing this course again. It is now #2 on my Top 5 Tucson-area courses.
Conditions
Warm greeting to start. 300 yd+ par 4s mixed with almost 500 yd par 4s. Short par 5, medium length par 5s then a monster 600+ par 5. What a fun and challenging mix! Conditions are excellent.

Details is Swell!
Sewailo is a beautiful course. Greens are superb with enough undulation to test even the best green readers. Tee to green on most holes is an adventure as many shots are blind. Over every hill is another adventure. Fairways are in decent shape - some dry spots with little grass but the majority of fairways ensure good lies. Water- water everywhere - again increase the challenge of this course. Slightly overpriced but fun (with a healthy dose of frustration) to play. Highly recommend every golfer to experience it!
Very challenging layout. Greens are in great condition. Well worth a visit.
Great condition and pace of play was wonderful
4 hours and never had to wait
Great on course refreshments with good timing
Loved it
Can't recommend enough. Even after a little frost delay (I brought the cold down with me), it was a fantastic experience.
Great Layout, Superb Condition
One of the finest public courses in Southern Arizona. Immaculate fairways & greens. Interesting holes, (lots of water). Really have to think your way around. Practice facilities outstanding. GPS in carts a nice feature, Staff very helpful and accommodating. A must play.
Thank you for playing Sewailo Golf Club and for your nice review. I also wanted to thank you for your patience regarding the tee time mix up that we had with GolfNow. We hope to see you again soon.
