Riverwood Golf Club - Riverview/Meadowlands Course

Fairways tee box in bad condition greens very fast maybe needs time for grass to grow in

My golf group has played 4 different courses a month for years. Riverwood appeared back on Golfnow so we had to see it again. They seemed to be off Golfnow for a few years, but I must say this course looked and played excellent and is back in our monthly rotation. The greens were flawless, and everything else was in order and good shape although winter dormant. The clubhouse is older, but the views from the top of the hill at the clubhouse are spectacular. Check-in was seamless, as the golf professionals on duty were very friendly and helpful. The young man who checked us in-Bryson, explained the history of the course and then led us outside to show the layout and where to go for everything. From there it was driving range (great facility), short game area, and lightning quick putting green which got us ready for the course. Pace of play was super as our foursome played our normal 3.5 hours. The rates are the lowest for a course of this caliber we have ever played. $30 on weekdays and $45 on weekends before 1pm!! This course could be charging $75 a round on the weekend based on overall experience. Although there was no restarunt (just a basic snack bar), the other 5-star ratings speak for themselves . This course is back in a big way. It was a great experience years ago, but now back on Golfnow I can confirm this is the best value in the entire triangle.

I played this beautiful 27 hole golf course for the first time ever the other day. I fell in love with it tough but fair, the greens were fast and great shape. The golf staff inside were amazing and were very friendly. At the end of the day i end up signing up for a membership which includes four golf course, unlimited range balls,and no cart fee for only $211. That is a steal for how nice this golf course is. Everyone should go out and try this golf course and the rates are a great price for the quality of this course. highly recommended

First time I've played this course in around 12 years. Not sure the Meadows nine was there when I played back then. The .layout on the Meadows is a little bit tricked out but interesting!

Deer Run nine is more traditional and straight forward . Greens and fairways are in good shape. Cart paths need to be redone .

I've been playing this course for 8 years and never get tired of it. The course has 27 holes. This helps the pace of play and keeps the course from being over played. I really like the Champion Bermuda greens. Large practice green, large range with newer balls and good short game practice area.

Played this course with my son who lives nearby in Garner, NC. First time for this course. Found the course to be in great shape from tee to green. You can see Pete Dye's influence on Riverwood as his protege, David Postlewaite, designed it. Many holes are a little tricky if you haven't played them before. The staff were very friendly and the rates are great. I would recommend this course to anyone staying in the Raleigh area.

Course was in great condition and the challenge from back tees on River to Deer is high..The deer 9 holes from back tees is as good a 9 hole challenge as I have ever seen and that included places like Torrey Pines, Spanish Bay ect. over 3740 yards.

Only paid $20 to play on a Monday, great value and a fun course to play.

There is sufficient challenge here for any level golfer. I thoroughly enjoyed the layout and the great golf holes on this course.

Nice course. Friendly staff. I am working in Raleigh for 5 weeks so I decided to try it out. Only about a 25 minute drive and well worth it! I'll definitely play it again over the next few weeks.

Overall course is okay at best. Greens are to fast for pins. Should slow them down a bit. I am a 3 handicap and like fast greens, however, these are like a 13-14 with the pins. Also, they are not receptive to short irons.

For the price and the location of Riverwood i will keep coming back for all my golf outings. highly recommend. beautiful course. beautiful neighborhood that is not too crowed and very quiet.

We played the River and Deer nines of this 27 hole course and found it to be a great challenge of skill sets and has a nice balance of accuracy-minded tee shots paired with some grip-n-rip shots off the tee. The greens were heavily sanded and were a little inconsistent putting due to it, but otherwise the conditions were terrific and the fairways were in great shape.

Very nice place to get in a quiet round that moves quickly (we played 18 in 3 hours exactly), but also challenges players of multiple skill sets.

Will definitely be playing again.

Played on a day it was raining so hard for me to do a proper review. Greens were in OK condition. Not great and not bad. Staff is friendly and nice.

Some nice and long holes to challenge most golfers. Compared to 'The Neuse', I would have to say that 'The Neuse' is a better course to the eyes. The greens were also better at the Neuse. In the peak of summer, I am sure Riverwood will be just as good. Worth trying if you are from Raleigh/Cary/Durham.

Love playing here and such a great value for what you get. Three great nines always in good condition. Not crowded, so the pace of play is very good. We love playing here.
