Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club
About
Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club is in the heart of some of Arizona's most dramatic Sonoran Desert terrain, you would hardly be able to guess that you're only about an hour from Phoenix. The golf course tumbles across rolling hills, stretching to more than 7,000 yards from the back tees. Each hole provides a different challenge thanks to the fluctuating elevations, which are complemented by strategically placed bunkers. You won't find too many water hazards but you're in for a challenge where it does come into play. One of the most notable water holes is the par-3 13th, which has a massive lake hugging the right side of the green. It's followed by another water hole, a par 5 with ponds on either side. The appeal of the golf course goes beyond the challenging layout, Wickenburg Ranch offers scenic views of Vulture Peak and Prescott National Forest as well as mild temperatures almost year-round.

Wickenburg Ranch
The best course I have ever played. Pristine, fun, great lies, fair, scenic, I'm afraid the rest of the year it will be too expensive for me.
Perfect day for golf
Outstanding golf round. Greens were the best I have ever putted on. Course is challenging, but extremely fair.
An Amazing Day!
Took my pops here for his birthday and wow what an unexpected treat! From the restroom to the range everything is kept in top condition. It's one of the few courses in AZ that uses bentgrass for its putting surface. The greens were absolutely immaculate and it wasn't even peak season.
Elevated tee boxes with wide forgiving fairways but as the starter said the party starts on the large undulating greens! Great for gir stats but 3 putts lurk on every hole especially playing from above the hole. Such a beautiful place. I haven't played many of the top courses in AZ but I definitely liked this course more than TPC Scottsdale. I will be back!
Wow!
Great course, if you are an avid player, you will love this course! Great par 3's and LOOONG par 5's...wish I lived on this course...
Best course in AZ
Best course I've played in AZ. Play off season the rates are great. Hope this club stays open to the public.
Special golf experience
I've played virtually all of the desirable higher end publicly accessible golf courses in scottsdale and greater Phoenix valley, including those in Sedona, Prescott, Payson, and to a lesser degree - north Tucson. In my opinion, Wickenburg Ranch is in the top 5 for scenic setting, quality greens, technical challenge, value, and overall satisfaction. Quintero, Seven Canyons, Sedona Golf Resort, Troon North Pinnacle, and Gold Canyon Dinosaur are the other 4. In my humble opinion. One word of caution -- the AZ Highway patrol representatives on the road out there are nice guys but I haven't met one yet that seems to be a golfer. And Wickenburg takes longer than you think it will take to get there so you may find yourself pushing the speed limit to make your tee time. Not a good idea..... trust me
Nice course
Nice course. A jewel for those that live in Wickenburg. Only snafu was against Golf Now who booked me a 7:30 tee time only to change it to 8:20 the day before the round. Not so good on Golf Nows part.
Overrated and disappointing
Second time I have played this course but first time since they finished the new and permanent clubhouse. Nice golf facilities but the course does not live up to its press clippings. Course is very green but this is due to the course being way over watered. Mud in the fairwsys and and on all green approaches. Greens had been punched recently and had many ball marks. Worth playing once but is not the bucket list course one is lead to believe it is. The other courses in Wickenburg area are in better condition and worth playing before I go back to this course.
Nice course and people but everything else mediocre.
Staff friendly. Course in great shape except the bunkers were packed and hard. Scenery was not all that great. Worst part was time of play 4 hours and 45 minutes. Went fine until we caught up with group in front of us on hole 8 - very slow after that. Too expensive to recommend. Try Quintero.
great day
The course was fun to play and the greens were amazing.
First Class
Course conditions were excellent - these are some of the best greens you will ever play. The layout is challenging. There is considerably more room off the tee than it appears, but the greens and approach shot positioning are very demanding. There have also been many additions to the amenities since my last visit - restaurant, bar, clubhouse, etc. Staff was very helpful and friendly. My only negative comment is that they need to have drinking water on the course. Overall an excellent experience and good value.
Prescott and Sedona got nothing on Wickenburg Ranch
One of the most entertaining courses in the State. Our group played the tips which with the elevated tees plays shorter than the 7000 yardage... until the wind picks up around 9am. Roller coaster ups and downs to selectively bunkered mounded green complexes. Don't be above the pin on these supreme bent grass greens. Three jack city for the player on the wrong levels, but birdie putts that gently slip in true with the proper approach. New clubhouse since last fall is a terrific add to this fine location and impressive golf community. A must play for serious and adventurous golfers.
Interesting, challenging track
11 index player, was paired up with 2 members, great guys that helped with some of the course anomalies. Greens were extremely fast and undulating to the point of being ridiculous. Played the back white tees, which was OK. Uphill par 5s are difficult, have blind shots with tightly mowed fairways. Good 2nd shots would roll back 80-100 yards!! Because of the difficulty with the course setup, I would only recommend this course with a caveat. For the occasional outing, I'd say look somewhere else. With a lot of course knowledge, this would be a course you could play over and over without getting bored. PS: The restaurant and bar are terrific.
Diamond in the rough
Stunning views, immaculate condition and interesting layout. This course was amazing the only knock on it was the pro shop and pro specifically seemed very uninterested in our being there. Other than that, great day and definitely worth every penny
The Ranch
Had a 1:30 tee time.got off on time behind a foursome that was really really slow. They were behind the last group of a tournament. 5:30 round.
