Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club
About
Wickenburg Ranch Golf & Social Club is in the heart of some of Arizona's most dramatic Sonoran Desert terrain, you would hardly be able to guess that you're only about an hour from Phoenix. The golf course tumbles across rolling hills, stretching to more than 7,000 yards from the back tees. Each hole provides a different challenge thanks to the fluctuating elevations, which are complemented by strategically placed bunkers. You won't find too many water hazards but you're in for a challenge where it does come into play. One of the most notable water holes is the par-3 13th, which has a massive lake hugging the right side of the green. It's followed by another water hole, a par 5 with ponds on either side. The appeal of the golf course goes beyond the challenging layout, Wickenburg Ranch offers scenic views of Vulture Peak and Prescott National Forest as well as mild temperatures almost year-round.

Great Course
Great golf course, conditions, service and facilities. It is a hike from Phoenix, but worth the time.
Low handicapper course
This course is in pristine condition but the greens are manicured so well that they are EXTREMELY fast. If you are not a low handicap move up on the tees. We were first group of the day and the ranger was very rude to us cause we were "20 minutes behind " his desired pace by 13th hole.
You must play this
Wickenburg Ranch is a beautiful course in the hills north of wickenburg. We played in the morning and the greens had just been rolled. They were fast and treacherous. There are many outstanding views on the course. They are building the clubhouse, the start of the round involves a long cart ride and you are shuttled back to parking at the end. On the par fives they could use a few signs giving distance to the trouble.
Insane pin placemnts
Will play the course one more time and if pin placements are as difficult as this time I won't be back. Too far and too expensive to not enjoy your round.
Great conditions
Course was awesome in every aspect!!!!!!!! Will return for sure!!!!!!!!
Outstanding risk/reward venue
Although this course is very challenging it is at the same time very fair. Most holes present a well designed risk reward option. Hit the ball well and you will be justly rewarded however miss-hits are an entrée to big trouble. I found the greens to be very fast but very true. Be prepared for a lot of surprises when playing this course for the first time. Several strokes can be spared once you gain an understanding of what lurks around the corner.
With out of town friends
Played with friends from out of town. One of the best courses we have ever played.
Beautiful
The course was in fantastic shape but the greens
ate me up, lightning fast with lots of undulations was unable to get a handle on the speed.
Being a masochist I will being playing it again soon.
The best
Played here a few times now and have to say it is as close as it gets to perfect golf. Once clubhouse is finished this place will be tough to top. Very challenging course. Some of the toughest greens to be found. Fast and tough to read. Several holes would be signature holes on many courses.
Our new favourite course in the area. Excellent course layout and value. Great golf destination and community. If you don't mind the commute this is a must play course when in the Phoenix area.
Outstanding
What an outstanding experience all around. A haul to get there from Scottsdale, but worth the trip. Course is amazing. Great layout, immaculate condition. Every tee, fairway, green and even the rough was groomed to perfection. No two holes the same. Have played about 20 of the courses consistently ranked "Top whatever" in the country, and this one is in my top three. Make the drive out there. Even the food and drinks were great. I drove back for a second round the same trip.
Awesome track !!
Just wish they had gps on carts quite a few blind shots.
Best yet
I had played Wickenburg Ranch before, and knew that the price was a great value. It was cheaper I suppose because it was an 8:10 tee time, and 40 degrees. There turned out to be a frost delay, and we teed off at 9:20, first group off and no one in front of us. We played in 3 1/2 hrs. The course was immaculate, weather perfect, staff (kudos to Jason), great. I ate breakfast and lunch at "Jakes Spoon", also excellent food and great value. As an added bonus, we played the newly opened lil' Wick, the par 3 course for $15. I was grouped with 3 other nice folks, and had a banner day. Can't wait to go back.
One of the best in the state
Drove an hour and a half each way to play this classy course. High quality design, superb conditions, and just a fun challenging experience.
Professional greens
This course offers spectacular views from the time you step into the clubhouse. The practice facilities were the best I've seen. The course layout was great with a lot of elevation change. The greens are huge and fast with almost all of them having multiple tiers! You have to know where the pin is or you're in trouble! Water comes into play on a few holes and will really test your shot making ability. The par 3 Lil Wick was also enjoyable and offers the same level of challenging greens as the main course. Plus the watering hole is a great place to grab a beverage and a bite to eat while catching the game on tv. I highly recommend playing this course before it becomes private.
Great Experience
Great layout. Picture perfect fairways and greens. Was surprised at the contours of all the greens, seemed extreme.
Beautiful
Beautifully manicured, scenic and well worth the $$$$
Views, layout, and turf conditions all suberb
Total layout is exciting at every turn. There are no boring holes.Several holes with water features are awesome.
Fairways and greens grass conditions unbelievably perfect. Sand in bunkers perfect.
**Should have a interim clubhouse type facility after ninth hole. Course continues without returning to clubhouse after nine holes.
Playing experienced would be enhanced with a stop for lunch, golf balls and other supplies (weather related) Plus opportunity to sit back and enjoy all the views before continuing play on back nine.
The additional 9 hole executive course is unbelievable. A great entertaining layout complete with MUSIC and FOOD on every hole.
Comments on 19th hole clubhouse is presumptive, since this awesome looking building is not quite finished.
Fantastic
Rated one of the best courses to play in AZ. Our experience here was fantastic. The course was in excellent shape and the staff was friendly and attentive. Each hole gives you a different challenge and the views out in this area are great. Greens were fast (about a 12 on the stimp according to staff). Four of the holes have water which could come into play. Our favorite was "Big Water" - elevated tee shot to a 194 yard par 3 that will make you think of other famous water-surrounded greens. The big thing to watch is on approach shots. Greens have multi levels and if you don't get in the right spot, 3 putts are almost assured. We were lucky to be playing with members who could direct us on approach shots.

20 minutes behind schedule is a huge delay. He may of gotten you upset, and maybe his delivery should've been better. However, one group that's slow will slow down an entire golf course. So glad the rangers/starters will let the groups know to speed it up. 4 hrs should be a round of golf. People who are 20 minutes behind schedule should pick up their ball and move on. Getting a 8-10 strokes on each hole is just not acceptable.
