High Legh Park Golf Club - Academy Course

Visited with my son 12 and took him on the starter course - played 9 holes. Practice green was nice. Range open with available tees. Good set up. Teed off 12.51 with 9 min gaps behind - but chap with son arrived and teed off whilst we were on the green - par 3! Course was in nice condition but obviously very wet in certain areas. Overall VFM was good, course condition was good and sun shining. Little gripe - asked at the cafe bar (where we got card) and at the shop for a pencil - nobody could help. Also, got a bit of attitude of an older chap when I ordered a Kit Kat and 2 drinks. Obviously, had more important things to do. Heard him give a bit of attitude to a chap ordering some beers. Bit weird. Nice place and good set up though.

Enjoyed my round very much. Course was wet but playable. If anything thay need to put more clear signs on the academy course. Will definitely play again. Will recomend to my mates.

I have been playing Academy 9 hole courses with my 10 year old kid who is just starting out on his lifetime adventures with Golf.

High Legh fits the bill. Great set up on entering the Golfing car park, with excellent facilities, inc putting green, driving range and practice area. Full 18 hole course which we will play in the future as it looks so sweet. Loved the 9 hole course as a starting out point, not too strenuous a walk. The 7th, Augusta I think its called, is a dream hole, 160 yards iron off tee to a massive dog leg left with a easy 8 iron on green, left with a simple birdie putt. Thats in theory !!! It wouldn't be out of place at more illustrious clubs. Greens need work.

Playing again soon. Would definitely recommend.

Very friendly staff a nice mixture of holes and no waiting or being chased great. Only 2 downsides, layout is slightly strange long walk from hole 1-2 and the greens were a bit patched in places, but these are minimal and I’ve already booked to play again next week

Recently, played this course several times due to Championship course being very busy.

Very good 9 hole course, perfect for practice & improving short game.

Some really nice holes & deep rough makes it a really fun challenge!

This place and set up for golf for all standards is ideal

I played 9 holes on the academy course and as is stated was good test for all standards of golf, this was absolutely spot on with a great mixture of par 3s and a very long par 4 and 5

Found the course no too busy for a Sat afternoon and enjoyed very pleasant round mid afternoon

Excellent facilities in and around the course, snack bar, bar, putting area, driving range, golf shop etc,

Will be going again for sure in the near future, and not expensive at all, glad I went and gave it a try

The course held up well after a sustained period of wet weather.

We were pleased with the mix and variety of long and short holes.

Played the 9 hole academy course. Generally in good condition although the tees and greens needed considerable improvement - too much moss on the greens. Otherwise very enjoyable round of golf and would definitely play again

Great little 9 hole course with some some challenging holes on it! No issues with pace as this is a very quiet course!

Definitely recommend this to anyone who just wants a quick 9 holes with great value for money!

Acedemy course is good fun. A mixture of interesting par 3s, deceptively tricky par 4s however the watch out is the rough. Most of the rough is dense very quickly. So if you're a high handicap bring a few balls !!
