Great day out

One of the nicest courses I have played. Nice balance of challenge and spectacular views. The clubhouse facilities and food were exceptional too and a great deal on golf now too. Happy days!

Superb gem of a course

Don't be fooled by it being a 9 hole course. It's fantastic. Superb condition greens/ fairways/ bunkers. It puts more well known courses I've played to shame regarding maintenance.

The greens are undulating, and challenging.

Speed of play is excellent. The views of the River Severn and surrounding countryside are stunning.

The driving range is good and the best I've seen on a 9 hole course ever.

The clubhouse is very popular, food is excellent and the terrace offers an amazing vista.

If I lived closer I would join!!

Superb course, fantastic condition

Wow, what an excellent find. The course is in amazing condition, well cared for. The greens in particular are very challenging with lots of contours and surprises. Set in beautiful countryside, peaceful, quiet. Its a 9 hole course with different tees for 10 to 18.

There is an excellent driving range, practice bunker and chipping green plus a small practice green. The clubhouse staff are very welcoming and there is a gorgeous view of the course and River Severn from its terrace.

Well worth a visit.

Lakeside

Really nice course. However playing if winter tee boxes, and all the rubbers are damaged in the boxes. You struggle to tee the ball up and have to rush your shot before your tee falls down.

Unknown. Shouldn't be.

Without a sign on the very near A road,, I drove past and had to turn back at Welshpool.. This was hardly a hardship, but seemed symbolic, as this little gem was unknown to me until it came up on Golf Now. A super course, interesting and very well-maintained,. A 9 holer which, unbelievably, proved more challenging than the more vaunted Llanymynech just 10 miles North which II'd played a week ago., It looked as if they might be planning an island green in the lake on the 9th / 18th, and I hope so, Friendly staff and golfers helped, and heard several recommendations for the restaurant. Next time we shall find out.

Lovely 9 holer

Great social 9 holes with friends who are all average golfers. So this course is ideal with a good balance of challenge and forgiveness for the less accurate shot. 9 holes, then a fabulous lunch and beers before the second 9. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Visitor to Lakeside Golf Course

Playing Lakeside Golf Course in the autumn sunshine was a real treat. There was a warm welcome and our booking was efficiently confirmed. The course is attractively laid out and very well presented and maintained. The pace of play was good with no waiting and our two ball took us under 3 1/2 hours. Well worth a visit.

I'm surprised this is the first review of the course as we absolutely loved it. We initially heard about the course through word of mouth and perhaps the locals don't want to share the information about the course so they have it all to themselves! Stunning views across Wales with a few really interesting elevated par 3 holes. The course is only 9 holes that you play twice but we didn't mind this being our first time on the course. It made it competitive playing the holes two times around as you knew where to hit the ball.

Atmosphere was very friendly and the club house / restaurant lively.
