High Altitude Golf!

Iconic views of Long Mynd, a real one off - difficult - lots of blind holes going up and up! Great greens considering the sheep. Altogether enjoyable chalk.

Top quality

Just fun, pure fun. Course is quirky, short in places, but that’s great, we all love short par 4s. All of them interesting and challenging and the course is no knock over even given its length.

The greens were very very good. Quick and true. Course condition was excellent. A relaxed clubhouse and general atmosphere, I would highly recommend.

The views are remarkable, on a clear day you can see forever. Similar to Welshpool. Truly fantastic golfing scenery.

Also great that it’s dog friendly!

Great course poor timings fir us

Love the course the people and the views. Did not finish the round though as at one stage we had e groups on the tee.

We walked in after the 12th as did others dud to the speed of play.

We play for fun and are not professional and should be able to get round s course that length within 3 1/2 hours or even 3!

Return to a great course

Hired a buggy and so glad we did, walked before and it’s hard going, with buggy enjoyed it first 3 holes are all par 3’s and pretty hard great range of holes and greens where very good, only downside was that when you finish nothing was open to get a drink or food, but there was plenty close by, sun was shining but cold breeze day will play again soon

Beautiful course with lovely views... But save wait until summer!

Very open course with beautiful views but a brutal wind. If you have a slice then you will lose a lot of balls. Blew our electric trolleys over multiple times. Had to keep lying them down. But wind is also your friend sometimes. Drove 300+yds a couple of times to the par 4 greens with wind behind. Overall really nice and played well which always makes it more enjoyable. If I had played bad don't think I would ever go back haha.

Blowing a Hooley

First time at CS - the opportunity to combine two favourite pastimes- golf and hill walking - and we chose a day to blow away the cobwebs.

Fantastic value / views and a true test / experience

Proper upland golf - obviously more par 3’s than a ‘normal’ layout - but does not distract

Tight in places and course layout knowledge will help next time we play

As a member of a parkland course- when I play away I want something different- and it certainly is

Echoes of Kington GC but I think it’s a tighter track

Golf bag on a trolley blew over 5 times - and terrain can be challenging with trolley - so may want to consider carrying

All in or for only £12 on GolfNow - exceptional value

It was tough - but always had a smile - play it!!

Day to remember

Wow....! what an experience, I'll remember this day for a very long time. Met by a very friendly and helpful pro who explained the course layout. The course is high up in the Shropshire hills and the views are just magnificent. The layout makes full use of the hilly terrain and every hole is both interesting and challenging. Very well draining, lots of sheep, lots of birds of prey and on my day, a ferocious wind. But I got round in 81, 15 over par. Can I get below 80 next time? If there's less wind, and knowing the layout, maybe.....who knows, but there definitely will be a next time.

Every golfer should play Church Stretton at least once, a memorable experience.

A GEM

Excellent course and fantastic value. Course in excellent condition with lovely greens and although hilly in places it's worth the walk for the stunning views. Proper old style course with sheep roaming the fairways and a must play course for the experience. Will defiantly return soon.
