Best shot of the day on the 4th hole Photo submitted by Brett4224030 on 10/04/2012
Dry, dry, dry.
Great pace, but we were off peak hours. Extremely dry and some greens are in terrible shape. Where they are green, they are nice to put on. It's a good course to get in some practice with your irons.
Good for a very novice player
So my wife really twisted my arm and forced me to get a new set of clubs the day before I played Antelope Greens. After I bought my clubs I started looking at places to golf. The reviews were good on yelp and I really wanted to golf alone since this was my 3rd time. Well although it was at 3PM in 100 degrees, 18 holes for $3.01 was a steal. I refuse to pay more than $15 for a round of golf at my level unless its with friends.
I showed up and checked in at 240pm. I asked if I could play solo and they woman at the front desk was very accommodating. In fact she let me tee off right then instead of waiting 20 minutes. Well my first 3 balls went straight into the water and my 4th hit a tree and was nowhere near the fairway or green...There was a friendly gentleman sitting on the bench and gave me a few tips. Im not a great golfer but I was just nervous. As the game progressed, my nerves were calmed and my skills improved. On the 3rd hole (par 3) I actually Teed off and my ball landed about 6 inches from the green. I was able to putt the ball in for a -1 on that hole...Wish the rest of my game went that well, but don't we all. By the 4th hole, the same gentleman from earlier had caught up to me. I tried to let him play through but he offered to play with me instead. It definitely made the game a bit more fun. Everyone here was great.
The golf course itself was not the best kept. I hacked a big hunk of dried yellow grass which was in abundance there. I hear the driving range is good there.
Overall its a great place for golfers at my skill level which is about nil.
Greens soft & quite slow but they roll true.
Short course with some nice features. Well maintained. Greens soft & quite slow but they roll true. Good place to practice iron shots.
short 18 hole corce good shape played i 3 4 hr
lot of par 3 some par 4 short par 3 75 yards long par 3 200 yards and longer par 4s made for a fun day
great practice on short game, super value $
Reservation was 3p, backed up to 3:20. Several tee boxes were not level. Flat greens out, but more challenging green s coming in.
Best short course in Sacramento area!
Great course, well care for, friendly.and the deals they have in golf now.com can't beat them!
greens are great
greens are slow but in great shape, fairways prefect, ruff thick. love this little course,
Great value
Played on Sunday afternoon and the pace of play was nice. Great value for golf.now price paid. Tee boxes were not great but greens and fairways were good. Would play again for similar golf.now price.
Nice short course with 18 holes.
Fun for the beginner and also the person working on short shots and accuracy. good value for the money but it seems everyone thinks so and It can get very busy and slow. go early during the week for 18in less than 3.5 hours. weekends busy.
Except for a couple of tee boxes, course was in great shape
Greens rolled true, great sand in the bunkers and fairways gave alot of roll. Only downside would be the $20.00 for a cart if you wanted one but low impact to walk.
Excellent GC
Nice greens and fairways especially when it was supposed to be 35 degrees out. Most of the tees are in sunlight great to play in winter. great drainage. 7 dollars.
The grounds were in wonderful condition!
I especially appreciated the "starter". . .It was cold & windy outside (40ish), & he was kind enough to come outside & ask me if I wanted to wait inside. He didn't have to do that, but he did. . .As a woman golfer, I don't see that kind of courtesy at courses very often. THX Matthew!
By the way, the course was in great condition & the greens were beautiful!
Great opportunity to improve short game
Great holes to try out your new wedge set you got for Christmas. Walked it in 3 and a half hours, and I was the slow player on the course. Staff is friendly and price is very affordable. Many memorable holes, like the 60 yard shot over bunkers hole 5, or the 120 yard shot to an island green hole 7. Best value for your money. Great, fun course to play.
course need work
Golf now tee time prices are great. But the fee for a cart is tooooo expensive. I golf with a friend for 5 dollars each but they wanted 10 per person to ride which is beyond words. That's 200 percent of the golf fee. Plus tee boxes are really bad and the greens and the rough need work
This course is designed for people that can walk a course and play 18 holes reasonably.
Love this course. Wish it was located closer to our home. It is very well maintained. We miss the drinking water on the back nine during the winter months.
We are not very good at golfing, so we find the course challenging. We appreciate that it is walkable because we play golf for the exercise, and riding would not meet that criteria. We also appreciate that we are not forced to play as a foursome.
I tried to use the sliding evaluator above, but found it impossible to use.
We appreciate the good value provided by GolfNow. We are able to be flexible in the times we are able to play, so I search for the lowest cost at the most reasonable time.
This course is beautiful, I loved it!
This course is great if you like to play closest to the pin with your buddies. With 14 of 18 being par 3s.Its alot of fun. I will
go back!
first impressions from a newbie golfer
This is among the Sacramento area's prettiest courses that I've seen so far. Nicely maintained, though somewhat confusing to find one's way around and the course map is very small. The first nine is classic-looking golf course, shapely and well-mannered. The second nine is far more natural, woodsy and intimate. Big trees, natural water ways, creeks, loads of interesting birds. I played by myself and had fun wandering around the varied topography. I lost a lot of balls here, completely due to my bad shots...when they go in the rough here, kiss them good-bye and reload from your deep stash. There are goners. Club house is not the reason that people come here. It is an adequate shed where they check you in, call your name, and sell you a soda or bag of chips.
Great walking course!
A must to be up on your 120 yard and shorter game . Course is in pretty good shape for this time of year, greens are fair to good.
FUN, FAST 18
I come here to work on my iron play. I'll hit from either the whites or the blues, depending on the distances I want to hone. Though the course is short, each hole is surrounded by a unique set of hazards-- sand, water, brush and hills-- that make wedge play quite interesting should you miss the green from the tee. The greens are in pretty good shape, with only the large 9th green showing spottiness beyond the hole. Though this is an executive course, a handful of par 4's does allow me to stretch out with the driver periodically. An all-grass driving range compliments the experience perfectly.
Friendly staff
The staff was very friendly. Was surprised to see no refreshment cart on the course being a busy weekend.
