Lone Tree Golf Course
About
Lone Tree Golf & Event Center sits at the base of Mount Diablo State Park, tumbling across rolling hills that provide panoramic views of the scenic San Juaquin River Delta region. It is one of the most popular golf courses among local Bay Area golfers. The name of the course is misleading since the beautiful landscape is covered with mature forests filled with a variety of indigenous trees including majestic Red Oaks, Cypress, Eucalyptus, and Ponderosa Pines. These towering treetops make navigating the course pretty tricky. Accuracy is essential as is precise shot placement. The trees border the rolling fairways and there are bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. In 1990, Lone Tree's greens were completely redone except for those on the 12th and 15th, which are the two smallest on the golf course.

Course layout is nice
Great course and atmosphere to play for a course I played for the first time
lone tree rating
nice track/fun people, and i would recommend to a friend
Had to play the front 9 twice
I made the reservation and upon arrival at the course I noticed a huge tournament getting ready to start. I asked the pro shop if I had to follow the group his response was curt - "No, you are going to play the front nine twice". Great, if I had known that prior to reserving a tee time I would have selected another course. Lone Tree is a nice place to do a practice round when my club is closed on Mondays. I just expected to play 18 not 9 twice.
Bargain for the Money
One of the better courses in the area.
Great Value
Good course layout. Course conditions good; course well watered. Greens in good condition as well. Played on Monday at noon. Marshall flexible on start time as course was not fully booked. Driving range balls a little expensive: $6 for small bucket. Pace of play was good (less than 4 hours) as most groups were 3 or less.
Lonely tree
Great course for the price. Great conditions
Good day of golf
Course is in pretty good condition, greens a bit bumpy by the end of the . All in all a good day.
Early morning golf
Saturday morning at Lone Tree Golf Course, was very good. The round took just a little over four hours and pace of play was good., but we had one to the first tee time of the morning. The greens were in the best shape I've seen in months.
Later there was a tournament and I'm glad I was not behind them!
Very fun and challenging course.
Lone Tree is a great course for the confident golfer. Many of the greens are elevated so your club selection as well as your pitching/chipping skills will be challenged. The layout is logical and fluid. The fairways aren't ultra wide, but the tree line is forgiving when you hit those dreaded off-center drives. The greens felt just the right speed and were a fun challenge sinking putts.
The first time I played this course in February '16 it was in fairly bad shape: very dry and super firm. I played twice this week and the course is playing very well. I really appreciate all the helping hints about filling in divots and ball marks around the course and on the carts. I'd like to give my fellow golfers the benefit of the doubt and hope they are kind about caring for the courses we love to play. This course seems to have a good group of patrons based on the condition of the grass on the tee boxes and on the greens.
Nice Experience
Good course conditions, and great experience. Will return, given the nice greens and fairways in good shape, based on the reclaimed watering, compared to neighboring courses. Nice facility overall, and worth the drive.
Holiday
We had our 4th of July at Lama park which is about a half of mile away so we decided to play a round of golf while the kids went swimming, it worked perfectly.
18 holes led to 36 holes
Played on a Friday and finished in 3 hours and 15 minutes. We were lucky that a foursome ahead of us allowed us to play through on the 2nd hold par 3. The course is in very good condition, post drought, and I can see where they are working on bringing the greens up to snuff. We finished the first 18 holes so quickly we decided to play another 18 at a great rate of $16/golfer. Overall and excellent day to work on my game.
Lazy starter
Played late in the day as a twosome and when we got to 10 they had let a foursome out starting on the 10th tee and it took 2 1/2 hors to play the last nine. Complained to the staff before we teed off on 10 but they did nothing about it.
Moderately challenging
The course had a good layout. There were a couple of blind fairways that provided concern for the golfers in front and in back of us. The greens were slower than I anticipated, but it was a great day for golf, otherwise.
Best Experience!!!
The service at the front desk was excellent. The young man at the front desk was very helpful and very thoughtful. He assisted us in everything we needed. The course is beautiful and has nice scenic views and one of the best views. Every one is friendly and I definitely recommend people and friends and family to visit "Lone Tree Golf Field".
We really enjoyed our day!
Had lots of fun, but lots of trees!
Good value
Greens were slow but true- fairways overall good- t boxes good
Lone tree
Great facility
great atmosphere
Really enjoyed playing golf there
This course has great layout.
The day I played, our group was playing behind a tournament groups. The tournament groups has no golf etiquettes. They were drunk and slow and hitting more then 1 balls. The course marshall were nowhere near to be found. It took us 6 hours to play only because we chose not to call it done like other groups in front of us. If you want to play this course check to see if there is a tournament that day. That was my fault for not checking. Overall, we had a fun time trying to make the best of it.
Nice fun course
First nine holes, no waiting. Second nine holes were really slow. Foursome in front of us had no clue what they're were doing. Everyone was just standing around. Never would let us pass. We were a twosome. Should have a marshal
