Lone Tree Golf Course
About
Lone Tree Golf & Event Center sits at the base of Mount Diablo State Park, tumbling across rolling hills that provide panoramic views of the scenic San Juaquin River Delta region. It is one of the most popular golf courses among local Bay Area golfers. The name of the course is misleading since the beautiful landscape is covered with mature forests filled with a variety of indigenous trees including majestic Red Oaks, Cypress, Eucalyptus, and Ponderosa Pines. These towering treetops make navigating the course pretty tricky. Accuracy is essential as is precise shot placement. The trees border the rolling fairways and there are bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. In 1990, Lone Tree's greens were completely redone except for those on the 12th and 15th, which are the two smallest on the golf course.

Great afternoon at Lone Tree
Played Sunday, May 1st and the course was in excellent condition. I enjoyed this round the most of any I've played in the last six months. Great price for a Sunday morning too.
Slackers
Our new go to course. Best value in the Bay area. Pace of play is fantastic mornings or afternoon. At least 5 signature holes in my book. Greens fare excellent. Perfect for middle handicap players. Great bar with great staff.
Poor Tee Time Management
25 minutes early for Tee Time, and got rushed to 10 Tee Box with no warm up, and not told about Greens having been "Aerated Recently".
Great Course
I am fairly new to the game of golf and have now played Roddy Ranch, Delta View, Brentwood Golf Club, and Lone Tree and I have to say that Lone Tree is an underrated course in terms of the amenities, service, and course conditions.
The course is almost always well maintained and the wet winter has really helped it out with only a few rough spots needing attention (we have been in the worst drought on record!). The driving range is terrific with mats and lights. The putting green is great and they also have a practice bunker at the chipping area. (The chipping practice area is rather small).
The facilities really set this course apart with a great locker room and pro shop. The restaurant is very nice with a large patio and food that is absolutely phenomenal! I am very serious when I say that this is one of the best restaurants in Antioch, and reasonably priced I might add.
The course is of moderate to low difficulty, in my opinion, with wide fairways (forgiving) and not many elevation changes. In all, a great course to play and relax!
Love this vourse
Just wish they would tell you that the greens were plugged when you go to book. always love the course but when you don't always get a chance to play its really disappointing when you tee off and get to the first green and it's plugged. Big let down.
Lone Tree
Overall this course is good and the prices are very reasonable. I played on a day just 2 days after big weekend rain storms, so the fairways were saturated and there was some standing water in a few places. Because of all of the winter rainfall the grass in the rough off the fairways was deep. So for winter conditions not bad and the greens were good, but I lost a lot of balls that normally would easily have been playable if the rough didn't swallow them up. All in all though the course played good and I would recommend this course to anyone looking to get out midweek late afternoon. Starting at 3:15 I was able to get 18 holes in right at dusk 7:30.
rough needs to be mowed, not the US open
The staff was awesome, Drake the starter was particularly friendly, and professional
easy to walk for most
The t time was good and the weather was great for this time of the year, Also we were the first to use the brand new golf carts that were put in to use that day.
Thanks
Jerry
45 min behind and weak cart batteries
Started out badly by having to wait 45 min after my t-time. During the round numerous carts were dying and was taking a long time to replace. The foursome in front of us had one of their carts die on the 10th and it took close to 45 minutes to get a replacemention. My cart died on the 14 th hole and after numerous calls, it was never replaced. My cart partner and I had to hoof it the rest of the way. This was hard for senior citizens. There were many abandoned dead carts in the course. My friend and I paid for a cart and the course should have provided decent carts that will last the round. This problem was not handled well.
Love the course normally
Love to play lone tree but it was not in It's normal great condition. I'm sure as spring comes upon us, it will get better !!
Worse Green condition ever seen...
they should closed for the green conditions, forgot to take some pictures….
Lone Tree with Hail Storm
Greens were not in good condition - and course was a bit wet! But most of all, we ran into a rain /hail storm and were unable to finish our round!
Sloppy when wet
Good value for the money, but this course showed many signs of winter dormancy as well as greens that had many dead (dark grey/black) spots. I'm not sure if it was the weather or not, but the greens rolled like hitting on Velcro. MANY short putts through the day. Many areas of fairway were completely soaked and/or pooled with rain in the week preceding this game.
Don't waste your time and money
Lonetree was a descent course years ago, now it's a rathole..fairways are beaten up, greens are diseased and patchworked...the only reason i finished the round was because of longtome friends had invited me to use Golfnow, It would've embarrassed my friends who lived near there, so I didn't complain to management. My son worked there whIle he was in highschool in the 9o's...it's ruined, a real dishonor to the game of golf. .
Worst greens
Greens and fairways in horrible conditions. Other courses in the Antioch area are 10x better. Don't waste your money!
Course in bad condition
Course is bad condition. greens have brown patches.
The course has a good layout.
Pro: Friendly staff and pace of play.
Cons: Greens need to be repaired. You dont have a clean roll to the whole.
The greens are not good.
I played this course hundreds of times when I was a young golfer, and the quality of the greens was the best feature of Lone Tree. Unfortunately, the greens currently appear to be infested with fungus, so they're a mess.
Green speeds were reasonably fast, but turf was missing all over the place and a smooth roll was impossible.
The fairways and tees are all in decent condition for this time of year, and the clubhouse is great, but the greens--no.
Low Hot Deal but feeling cheated
What can I say? Course was over watered, probably due to dried, dying grass all over the course. But worst is that practically all greens are in terrible shape! Won't come back anytime soon.
Great course for polite "newbie" golfers.
As an occasional beginner golfer this is a great course. Friendly golfers. We have always been able to let golfers pass around without a problem. Always go early afternoon and it is not too busy.
