Lone Tree Golf Course
About
Lone Tree Golf & Event Center sits at the base of Mount Diablo State Park, tumbling across rolling hills that provide panoramic views of the scenic San Juaquin River Delta region. It is one of the most popular golf courses among local Bay Area golfers. The name of the course is misleading since the beautiful landscape is covered with mature forests filled with a variety of indigenous trees including majestic Red Oaks, Cypress, Eucalyptus, and Ponderosa Pines. These towering treetops make navigating the course pretty tricky. Accuracy is essential as is precise shot placement. The trees border the rolling fairways and there are bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. In 1990, Lone Tree's greens were completely redone except for those on the 12th and 15th, which are the two smallest on the golf course.

Getting a little dry
Not unlike many other courses, the are places where the course is getting dry. Most fairways and greens are still pretty good. Our foursome had a great round.
a few sanded greens
was a great day, even tho a few of the greens are being sanded. a bit windy and hot. good course to make a few birdies. terrific value. staff is very helpful..... played at 12:30 and was allowed to go off the back as a twosome and avoid the crowd on the front nine. was alone the whole day. great way to play at our own pace.
Great sunset round with course wide open
I played a quick round at sunset and had the entire course pretty much. That was great because the course was in good shape and the wind had died down. Great course to get out and practice solo. I belong to a local country club that doesn't offer twilight golf so Lone Tree gets my business when I need to work out issues.
Great, nice, challenging, and worth the price.
I live near by and always wanted to play here, but never had the chance. I finally made the time to play here, and boy I was amazed!
The course was nice and challenging. The pace was awesome on Sunday.
I will difinitely play lone tree again, and recommend my friends too.
4 of july
Overall good course,
And they have angry orchard on tap!!
Relaxed, Fun
I've been playing here for 45 years, this course is in better shape now than ever. It isn't difficult, but it offers a variety of holes so it's fun to play. You can spray it around off most tees and still have a shot, which is good for me. The greens are in good shape with a very fair speed. If you're looking for a place to enjoy you're round I'd come here. I only play during the week, so I can't speak to the weekend round times, but we played as threesome and finished in just under 4 hours.
Good value
This course is a good value, I would play it again
Playing with my fellow workers
This was my first chance to play with three of my co-workers at this course. Boy, did we hit it right. The weather cooperated with us and we were not rushed or backed up. We all played very well. I would definitely return to this course.
Lots of variety.
I think I used every club in my bag. OK, OK, some of it was scrambling, but the layout does demand plenty of different shots.
Course is in great condition right now - much better than the last time (about 6 months ago). Greens were true (and deceptively fast). Their regular rate is good value. I lucked into a Golfnow rate of $33 including cart on a Saturday morning - outstanding!
Worth your time
Some easy holes, some hard holes. a couple blind shots but a good track
Tournament
I wish there was some way that Golf Now could tell you they were hosting a tournament. We had to play holes 10-18 2 Times because when we got done with 10-18 the first time the #1 tee had four groups waiting to tee off for the tournament. We would have had to wait a long long time to play those 9 holes.
Lone Tree
Excellent value through GolfNow. Good course and was in really good condition.
The bomb
I like the facility very clean neat course. I like that the drink cart comes around many times fast so adhering to no outside food or drinks policy is easily adhered to because of this. Staff is nice . Lady at front seems grumpy time to time maybe just too comfortable kinda Mel' s diner attitude . Other than that great course and challenging well kept fairways
this course has great features
Highly recommend, beautiful and we'll maintained course.
The course
The course was in fine shape greens a little fast but that's golf. Love the area.
Not going again
Greens were lumpy, super windy course, links course.
Greens need some TLC
Tee to green.. no complaints. Greens are bumpy and add in very fast...makes for a lot of three putts.
Need to be on your game to score well as chips run fast too. Interesting course-definitely worth playing.
Get some help with the greens.
The course has a very good practice area. One of the few with a real sand trap to practice in. But the greens on the course really need some loving care. There are areas that have no grass left and are very bumpy.
Great course expensive food
The course plays great with a great layout. Food at the consetions too expensive but just bring your own food
