Lone Tree Golf Course
About
Lone Tree Golf & Event Center sits at the base of Mount Diablo State Park, tumbling across rolling hills that provide panoramic views of the scenic San Juaquin River Delta region. It is one of the most popular golf courses among local Bay Area golfers. The name of the course is misleading since the beautiful landscape is covered with mature forests filled with a variety of indigenous trees including majestic Red Oaks, Cypress, Eucalyptus, and Ponderosa Pines. These towering treetops make navigating the course pretty tricky. Accuracy is essential as is precise shot placement. The trees border the rolling fairways and there are bunkers strategically placed along the greensides. In 1990, Lone Tree's greens were completely redone except for those on the 12th and 15th, which are the two smallest on the golf course.

Feels like a private club
This is my favorite club for the money. Its challenging yet fun. The fairways and greens are well maintained. Allways a great time!
Enjoyed the golf course!
We started in the back nine, when we arrived at hole #1 green, we noticed the green has been "punch out"" . When I checked in and I noticed that we were starting on hole #10, I casually mentioned it to the guy, who did not volunteer any information as to why we were starting on hole #10. The least he could have done was to say, the front nine were being worked on.
Relative easy course and one hole has a reconstructed temporary green.
Course condition can be improved. Relatively easy course.
the course is in pretty decent shape
The sand traps need a lot of attention. There is very little sand in the traps.
greens are the worst I've played
Overall the staff friendliness the course conditions are great but the greens are the worst I've ever played on. Disappointing because its a fun little track
Elevated Greens are a good and prominent feature.
Course in good condition. Greens were a little furry but Monday might have been a day off for greens staff. No Marshall's in sight and the walking twosome in front of us declined our request to let us through so we skipped a hole. Finished in 3 1/2 hours as a twosome in a cart.
A good muni for a good price.
Lone Tree Golf course is the city of Antioch course. It has challenging holes, easy holes, and a good mix of water, sand traps and other normal parts of a decent golf course. If you can hit it relatively straight and can putt worth a darn the average player like me can shoot his or her handicap. Fun course that I would recommend to other average golfers. (I'm a 12.2 so that's what average is for me).
Average course for an average cost
The pace of play was great today. The amenities are above par. Food was good. Putting green was average. $25 green fee from golfnow on last minute on a Saturday was a good deal and got me there.
For the course itself I'd give it 2.5/5. The tee boxes have some rough edges (divots, uneven etc). The greens were not good. They were soft slow and bumpy (Think plinko board and your not far off). The fairways were good. If they maintained the greens well here I'd give it a 3.5/5.
Cart girl was ever present and nice. The bar/restaurant was very nice and had some good food, however getting food at the turn would likely lose you 2-3 spots by the time you get it. (the sliders were delicious).
side note: I tried to pay my green fee and $10 of my buddies (owed him 10 bucks) and was told they couldn't do that. So I paid for mine and asked for a small bucket. Later I notice I was charged for a medium... bleh
A "classic" track – top muni course in Bay Area !
Each of the 18 holes is unique and fun to play – you use every club in the bag, and can have a chance for a birdie, or double – on any hole. New clubhouse is super, we stayed for a great early-bird dinner. I'll be back.
lone tree fun well taken care of!!
lone tree is a semi challenging course. It is well maintained and for the price it is reasonable. I would go again soon.
This course has great potential
Fairways are in good condition, Bunkers are very hard and the worst thing that I experienced was front nine greens. It is in need of a great attention
Nice course
Great course for the average golfer, friendly staff and good prices late in the afternoon.
greens need repair.no marshal was seen speeding up play time . people were taking their own sweet time and every hole there was 7-10 mts waiting
too slow game , people were very slow in front..no marshal controlling pace of game
The course was easy to play
The Staff was very friendy, the course was overy all in good condition, some of the greens were dry out and spotty, but did notice of the hand watering being done.
Had a great time and can't wait to play it again
Good round
We have played this course many times and have found it very slow on weekends. But this time was different, no waiting and we played essentially to our pace we were usually a hole ahead of the group behind us and did not catch up to the group in front of us until 13. For some reason the white tees were mostly back with the blue tees which is not usual.
Would recommend. Barely.
Always seems to be issues here with their tee time system. I had booked the 8:32 slot and our group teed off at 9 am. Pace of play is always poor. 5 hours plus is NOT acceptable. Ever. What happened to the 12th green? Your email blasts state "Tournament Conditions?" Really don't think that is the case. Also, why were the white tees paced with the blue tees on every single hole?
course has poor management
They way over booked the number of players. Our group was put behind two groups of five players, come on a Saturday and you put out groups of five players and they also had a tournament. The lady in the pro shop was also very unfriendly and the Marshalls did nothing to speed up play. So no more Lone Tree in Antioch Ca. for me.
Course in fair condition
The course was in fair condition. There was grass cutting were a problem on some holes, which caused us to lose golf balls in the fairway and around the greens. Carts were in good shape. Greens were in good shape.
Geat course for the money
Play time was a little too long for me, bottled up at some of the holes beside that course was more than challnging for my 20 HCP abilities. At $30.00 for 18 holes with a cart, you just can't beat it!
Tee expensive for the type fo course
The course is overbooked. There is no marshal to monitor the pace of play. When you tee off at 2.30pm on a Saturday afternoon and dont get done till, almost 8.00pm it is ridiculous. I live by this course but havent played it in over a year, because they never offer decent deals. Every other course around here will offer groupon or golf caddy deals, and they are a lot nice courses than Lone Tree. As a matter of fact I could have teed off and played Roddy at the same time for less than what Lone Tree charged. Just thought I would try this course again since I haven't played in a so long. Big mistake!!
